    Hi Frosty
All went very well I thought

Passing lanes could be only real improvement but not a big thing really

Getting them to have a 10 min break might be an idea at some point
because they wont stop for a drink of water/rest unless you bring out the checkered flag!

    My son loved the track
He said it wasnt to easy or too hard
He said he would like a small jump next time
(not sure about that ...might have to be in a expert passing lane so a marshall can decide if rider is good enough)

Could also be recipe for disaster!

    Just some ideas

    Cheers

Same as above more or less.

    - The layout of the track slowed some of the quicker kids. There were some that didn't need slowing but there seemed to be a bunch of kids that were riding beyond themselves and the narrower parts got them slowed. So that worked well.

    - A more organised line of kids at the start instead of the see who gets a helmet first although they all made it away.

    - The allocating of the rides got sorted later in the day with a cue formed. But some kids had seemed to have never ending runs while others seemed more parked up. Having said that they all got decent turns out there.

    - Agree with shorter session times if it's a hot sunny day not just for the kids to water up but the adults standing out there eating dust to get a break.

    - I thought the first track layout was good. I left just as you set the second one up.

    - I would like to see a tidier pit setup. It seemed that people were parked all over the place getting in the way of bikes coming in. The reverse layout was worse for that.

    - It would have been great if the learner section didn't cross the main track and the learner area was visible to the pit area where most adults congregated would be good. It's funny they weren't far away but seemed to completely dissappear.

    - Try and source at least one bigger sized helmet. There was a kid who couldn't get his head into any of the helmets and we managed to borrow a flash road one for him. Without that generous offer the kid would have gone nowhere.

All in all I thought it went really well and the organised chaos at times also worked.

It was deliberate -I diddnt want the kids going too fast its really for the slower kids --Unless we have a fast group then a slow group

    - A more organised line of kids at the start instead of the see who gets a helmet first although they all made it away.
Couldn't agree more--I need someone to do this job

I agree again -A person lining the kids up or perhaps giving them numbers for each session ?

That could work-only concern is the chaos in and out being intensified.

    - I thought the first track layout was good. I left just as you set the second one up.
The reverse setup needed changing and there were entering the pits issues I need to work out

    - I would like to see a tidier pit setup. It seemed that people were parked all over the place getting in the way of bikes coming in. The reverse layout was worse for that.
Yep I totally agree with that -I need help early in the AM to set up the pits so theres better flow

    - It would have been great if the learner section didn't cross the main track and the learner area was visible to the pit area where most adults congregated would be good. It's funny they weren't far away but seemed to completely dissappear.
Sorry man NOTHING I can do about that one. the learner area is in the only safe place it can be. The track crossing is DEFINITELY an area that concerned me -I think for next time it will be marked with tape and the person on the corner before it will be better informed as to how things work.

    - Try and source at least one bigger sized helmet. There was a kid who couldn't get his head into any of the helmets and we managed to borrow a flash road one for him. Without that generous offer the kid would have gone nowhere.
Sorry dude that was my fuck up--I had 1 big fullface sitting in my gargre-I forgot to grab it with the other ones

All in all I thought it went really well and the organised chaos at times also worked.

    HEY FOLKS
The next day is going to be in about 3-4 months.
I'm now holding out my begging hat.
Could I please have more DANGER tape and heaps more stakes --either wooden or plastic tube.
The better the track is marked out the safer its gonna be

Hey Frosty, my daughter really enjoyed it. She was the one on the DRZ110,she keeps asking when the next one is and if the track can be used for practice. If not do you know if there is anywhere to ride beside the sandpit at woodhill?

    Cheers

    Hi Mystic13

I did bring along my adult motocross helmet (Red/white/Blue)
so there should have been one to fit him

Maybe someone else was using it
but we can bring more next time

    Cheers

He got a loan of a Zeus with the pop down top gun tinted shield. I think he was pretty happy about that.

UKSteve, if you find other areas to ride let me know. I was talking to a guy who takes his kids out. They shoot up to Muriwai, then down the road just past the golf course and you can drive out onto the beach, which he does. He parks on the other side of the stream, unloads the bikes and he says you can see an opening in the sand dunes that bikes ride through. Ride up in there and you end up being able to ride up through the forest. Apparently a few bikes ride there.

I was going to take a little time off work and shoot in there for a look around with the view to taking my kids there.

PM me if you find some other places.

    Cheers.
