A bloke I know, married mortgage 1 kid, wife at home looking after the little bloke.
He gets a pay rise of $50/ fortnight , yay for him.
Puts him over the thresh hold so no more working for families , no more $73/ fortnight
Net income loss of $23/ fortnight , working for families at its best & fairness reigns supreme.
The more the govt interferes the more it distorts things , the more middle NZ gets screwed.

They have systematically infiltrated the teaching proffessions, the media, politicised the civil service and grown it into an overfed juggernaut, and god knows what else.
Yes, fuel prices have skyrocketed and impacted on everything. But the Government is laughing because the total tax take out of fuel has also increased enormously. If they are indeed a ''government for the working man'' then I seriously dont believe it and in practice they never have been. Quite simply they could have capped their total take out of fuel and lessened the impact. Road use charges for truckies, well what a pack of insensitive money grabbing bastards, say no more.
The BIG difference with National is that they are far more blessed with self made practical people with a better conception of the real world. I hope they win with a thumping majority and are therefore free to dismantle the excesses of the most corrupt self serving ''government'' in our history. ( Criminals )
Hear, hear, three cheers for this bloke. Loser lefty commie bastards that expect handouts but don't want to work for it should piss off. But I should note that not all in government are all bad. I work in government (local government that is though).

The government has done nothing for me - I have never been so poor. Joys of the middle class, who pay for everything and get nothing. I had more pocket money as a teenager than I do now... In fact, although I hate the place, i have applied for jobs in Oz - the difference in take home pay and what it can buy is forcing me to consider being an economic refugee. I would have more chance in having a holiday in NZ but working in Australia than living in NZ - the pay difference is enough to afford to come over here and tour for a couple of weeks, which I can't afford now. If I stay here, it is only due to family ties. I love NZ, and it is great motorcycle country, but that is no good if you can't afford to enjoy it.

So liarbour could actually do something about minimising the impact on the sountry, but did they do anything? No!

    Rubbish.

To get $37.5 per week with one child he would be on around 62k. You didn't specify if that was before or after tax. After tax $50 would be $2200, before tax it would be $1300.

Say he goes up to $64.2k he would still get $26 per week, $52 p/f. Same figures for $63.3k.

Don't view this as an apology for the Labour government. It certainly isn't but please don't see WFF as the mad rampaging beast that alot of people make out it to be.

Im off to Oz for work so wont be around come Election time .. yup Im going for work .. but equally keen for change/something different .. didn't feel drawn to move to any other place in NZ ..

One thing that gets on my grate about the Government here and probably everywhere else in the world .. is the way the politicians treat each other .. ok I think Im having a rant .. the nastiness/putdowns/constant need for them to trample on each other I actually find quite disturbing & disheartening. Adults? my 6 year old could teach them a thing or two about conduct. If common decency & consideration is not a priority for the people who govern this country ... why should everyone else bother!

I absolutely love New Zealand .. I just would like to see everyone treat each other better .. even the politicians! not such a bad thing is it?

Impossible for the elected government to be what I wanted.

No one I want is standing for election

Well, youd better batten down the hatches because the loony left are in for an electoral hiding, deservedly so.

Thing that really tickles my testicles is the way people proudly say "I'm a labour/national/wizard voter, always have been and always will be!", like they have no idea of policies, couldn't care less about the issues affecting the country and the way they are being handled, just blindly vote according to some ingrained habit passed down through the generations.

If people paid half as much attention to what actually go on in this country, things that actually affect them and their families on a daily basis and read articles rather than just headlines, as opposed to the latest issue of No Idea or Thuggery News then we'd be in a far better state than we're in now and the pollies would be far more accountable.

We've got exactly what we deserve 'cos 99% of the time we don't give a fuck and fall for the manky wee carrots they throw our way at election time. We've got no one to blame but ourselves. The good news is we've got a chance to push things in a direction that suits us, we've just got to care enough, and be smart enough to do so....

You said a mouthful there, Slowpoke.
Reality is an extremely difficult concept for too many people in my opinion.

Agreed. From what I've seen, or not seen for that matter, he's a lazy bugger who spends more time boozing than working and just jet sets around the world nowdays on behalf of her royal dictatorshipness... who also spends a huge amount of time overseas at our expense.

Nice new BMW's too.... where's ours?
