It is true that the spending on education has increased dramatically under the Labour Govt. Now one of the highest in the OECD and we do have a very high proportion of the population that is educated.
    Do you decry that?

    'Damage to the economy.'
Obviously you didn't study economics... or else you were a very poor student.

I laughed at David Lange departure from Parliament speech. Winston wasn't in the house and David said " Winston Peters would have been here but he was detained by a full length mirror"

Does anyone remember when NZ First was in coalition with National and Winnie rolled out a list of things they had achieved in the time they had been in govt. It was very long. Unrolled off the table and along the floor... for a long way.
    Looked very impressive.

Labour have been fleecing us for long enough, they have gotten sloppy & need to go.

National won't win this election, its more like Labour will loose it handing it to the Nats. John Keys is far to slippery for my likings, no major policy's yet = taking the piss.

Rodney has my vote, ever since his personal transformation he seems to be kicking goals.
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded

Do you think for one minute that if they hadn't delivered the opposition would have let the opportunity go by to vilify them without making a sound?

Media propaganda that they stole the money for the pledge cards.
They passed the bill to Parliamentary services for payment and they, the civil servants, paid it. Just as they had paid for things of this ilk for time immemorial. Or do you conveniently forget that reality?

    Well - fuck them all!
The characature of Fidel Castro reminds me of how poor the ''Marxist Revolution'' has made that country. So too for the likes Of Erich Honecker, Cauceasu etc.
Candidly, yes I too have a problem with really big business and the mulitnationals. I despise exploitation and I also have rather less respect for those that accumulate wealth primarily by speculation. Those that actually contribute to the country and carry people along with them I have a lot of time for. That they should be so stifled by mindless parasitical levies and taxes is an affront to sensibility.
Warts and all, the National party ( with Act party support ) are best able to deliver a better environment for the contributors rather than the takers. That we should have so many civil servants for such a small population is a nonsense.
BTW the Conservative party in the UK ( A Government in waiting ) are on record as saying they would cap the amount of tax collected on fuel. If you take the time to study their new leader ( David Cameron ) he is a very impressive politician that we could well do with the likes of here.

Or is that indoctrinated with socialist dogma ? My daughters have noticed a left wing bent with their teachers and one of them got vilified for doing a project on Margaret Thatcher. Not appropriate apparently.

Politicians are like nappies. They need to be changed regularly and for the same reason...

New Zealand will get the government the media orchestrates and it will be called democratic.......yea right!

Tui government more like it! Wake up New Zealand.

Vote for the government that "YOU" want, the only true poll is the election! Good luck,John.

It's back..."Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

Right on.... fleecing us and also telling us how to live our lives to the enth degree.

The only downside I find in Labour losing this time is that they got to govern during a period of sustained economic growth and had the benefit of high revenues to spend willy nilly - and then take all the credit. They seemed to have little to do with actually helping the economy itself - it ran itself quite happily as people got on with the business of making money in good times.

I'd almost like to see them squirm and sweat over the next term as the economy moves into this recession and struggles with job losses, company failures, loss of revenue, spending cuts etc. Otherwise they will just sit back and blame National, who may have to make tough decisions and look like the bad guy this timearound, just as Labour did prior under the "Rogernomics" reform period.
