I have already shortened the entire wiring loom about 35-40 cm th get the head light to sit where it does. This was 6 hours of steady soldering.

2, I want to fit a digital set of gauges but am wondering how can I do this with the analouge speedo? it there some sort of sensor that runs off the gear box?, or what that I can use to read from the cable to digital? this beats me.

And also I have seen on other street fighter bike on the web , they dont even have a ignition barrel ??? I know I can get a elecric starter ect but how can i do this and keep my bike secure?

Any way enough questions for now . Any advice will be appreciated.
Digital speedos cost $250 - $500, they run off magnets that stick in your front disc and the speedo can mount to your bars. RPM, oil, fuel, temp etc is easily wired in too. Look up toebug on trademe, I sell the Koso range of speedos, only one listed currently but will give you an idea.

If you remove your barrel you will lose your steering lock, but who needs it anyway, 2 of my fighters dont have it. You can make your bike remote start therefore removing the ignition completly, the bonus of this is the remote start is part of an alarm system, you can also add a disc lock for more protection and a hidden cut off switch.

You can also get longer headlight brackets if need be to clear your gauges.

Ah Bullshit, we try to be helpful, I also re-read your post to check!!! Some of us even have 250's!

Also I cant upload pics on there for them to help out, I don't no why it doesnt work.
Your pics need to be downsized to 400x300 pixels, then they will load easily.

I also see you are in Auckland, so you could always stop in at Red Baron and see Nick, he will be out front selling bikes and he is an NZStreetfighter club member.

Check trademe again, I've only actually just relisted the gauges.

Yeah Nick is the bald guy with glasses.

You could most likely find a rubber bung that will fit your old cable hole.

Modifiying bikes is always slow work as none of us roll in the cash, and they are NEVER finished, and dont worry about overcapitalising all modded bikes cost but its up to you how far you go. Hell the camo katana owes me at least $12k and its a 23 year old bike with 140k on the clock!

But the things you do to look cool! I am afterall from the land of the posuers!

Thats for sure especially hard when you use it as a comuter aswell. lol.
I got some sliders , and some renthal ultra lows to fit, also going to re spray calipers this weekend. Then Ill get around to doing that light. Ive been on the koso website and I love the rx1?? Only thing is it only goes to 15000rpm lol I need one that goes to 18000 haha I like that style, better start saving.

Dont worry too much about where the rpm runs out too much, I have a trailtech vapour on my gsxr750 and it only goes to 12,000 but I can set the shift lights to tell me I'm in the power. I have one of the koso's in my listings to put on my camo kat, it only goes to 15,000 as well. but its nice and simple and only the size of a cellphone. I have a Koso db1 on my fireblade, the rpm on that is numerical, therefore reads true all the way to the top. So you have lots of options available.

So like you said start saving!!

hey, i was changing my speedo/tacho in my bike (suzuki bandit), i was getting annoyed with analog guages. I got Vapor from trail tech. There is one guy that sells them in nz. Xtreme Motorcycle or something along those lines his cell 021396086. (it was a while ago so i duno if he still sells them).

    Vapor

I got mine with dash lights etc. So i had that with fly screen i got in hong kong. It looked mean. it comes with good instruction and manual, it is easy to install.
I did it over the weekend (afternoons) with box of beer and it was gr8 fun. One note, i had issues with my tacho for a while, and i had to get special cable send from usa. I got it all for free tho, it just took extra time.

Ummm... i have made a video on you tube rite after i installed it.

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=widIzqgnvU8

There are two rev counter displays. one is the one on top and it goes only to 12 rpm. (u can also setup lights) so when u get to 15 or something yellow lights comes on and if u reach 18 then red ones comes on), also u can switch the screen so it shows ur speed and rev (as you can see on my video, the rev counter shows 1500+ revs), otherwise it shows just the speed and current time. Check out other youtube videos to get an idea.

This video is before i got my fighter looking fly screen

NOTE: On the video rev counter still didnt work right. It was jumping quite a bit.

Theres a blue KOSO speedo unit which is awesome. cycletreads sell them for about $200. they have heaps of features, easy to install and damn they look good.

I had one on my cbr streetfighter.

Heres the only pic I have of it, its not very good but gives an idea of size, and how you wont have to worry too much about mounting options.
glows up like blue dogs balls at night.
