Have spent the last few days doing minor things, have prettied my baby up a lot (both mechanically and cosmetically), she really is a minter
Next to come, probably braided lines, new chain sometime, and a proper in-line fuel filter (currently have a massive one from a car on there )

    Lightbulb Headlight bulb for Hornet

Ultra Bright Light Bulb - $20 (anyone confirm?) -
Just go to Repco etc and get a Phillips Blue 4000k bulb - super bright - plugs straight in and makes a huge difference to night time riding with a better spread and the blue light penetrates much further . About $40.

There's a problem with these: they look brighter, but unfortunately they aren't actually giving you more visibility. It's all to do with the human eye not responding well to the blue end of the spectrum, so the light looks bright (dazzles your eyes), but doesn't actually help you see any better.
However, what Crash99 said about "a better spread" may be right.
The best thing to do is maybe upgrade to a slightly higher wattage H4 bulb, and make sure your wiring is up to spec (heavy enough wires, proper relay wired to the battery via a fuse, and clean contacts everywhere so nothing fries).
I've done this with a few bikes now, and it makes a big difference, provided the headlight refelctor is a good shape. F'rinstance, a VF500 I used to have had better lighting on a 130/80W (yes I *do* know that's illegal) bulb than the very same bulb in a Firestorm. (In fact, in the Firestorm, the contacts on the bulb had slight corrosion and the plug got a bit scorched. Oops....)
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....
