January 2000 BMW came with new model Paris Dakar.....
Saw it ,...drooled over it......did the maths, easiest way i could afford it without taking from the family budget was with my smoking money.
As a sailor I indulged in very few pleasures while stuck in a tin can for lengthy periods......so I smoked 3 50gram pouches of tobacco a week in the end..... Smoked for about 25 years or so....

    First time I gave up....
    Never touched a cigaret since....
Saved myself a fortune, never got that BMW though.....
Still refer to the Aprilia as my "ashtray"....cheaper and more fun

All dependaNT on the amount of alcohol previously consumed and what shes offerring. Some bigger chicks shag really bloody well, although to be honest Ive never gone to bed with a fat and/or ugly woman, but Ive woken up with a few...

As for smoking, would still love one now although Ive done the cold turkey twice now. I think these days I can have one or a few and then not have any for a week or a month. Also tried pot when I got back to the naki but they make it far too strong and I was too fuct to do anything. I wish I could get my mitts on a big bag of cabbage. Also don't think alot about the pre-made/tailor made smokes with all the extra chemicals put into them. Last smoke I had was about 3 weeks ago, then I got busy and forgot them. I left them somewhere where they got some mold into them I think and if anyone wants to be put off smoking they are welcome to try one as they are effing revolting!!!

I grew up in a house with a layer of smoke through it as my folks drank smoked and bet themselves poor.

I'd hate to think what damage all that smoke did to my lungs and that of my siblings. My grandmother died recently from lung cancer and struggled for many years with lung problems.... her lungs destroyed by decades of smoking also likely to have casued her emphacema (sp?) and two strokes. I miss her, she was such a lovely lady.

I tried smoking a bit during heavy binge drinking 4 nights a week when in the military many years ago.... gave up after that phase in life. I must say the urge is still there occasionally.

Yeah I allways made sure there was some home brew burbon and LnP handy just in case I needed to get pissed again. Although admitting that I couldnt even remember her name generally worked and would get rid of her.

Yeah, Id be pouring down some more alcohol to get rid of the thumping headache and she would want to start a conversation. If she started talking about coming back or anything else that caused concern then telling her that I could not remember her name and asking her to remind me tended to get the result I wanted. I.E, the never coming back again Although if she was not a whale, easy on the eyes, a really good sort or just a top shag then just calling her babe until I found out her name thru the conversation worked, well most of the time...

I give up on a daily basis. But people around me seem alot smarter when I am smoking.
It just annoys me now I cant kick it. Best Ive done is 4 months and then started again. gave up on the weekend but monday rolls round and smoking again.

Interesting ... so you expect me to start again????

I gave up five years after being told "when your diaphram stops working you need good lung capacity to cope" (this was the neuro re the ms) .. I had told him to fick off. After a few years I preped myself and choose to quit. The next week my mothers husband died ... all my family smoke .. I stayed quite all through that time. that showed me that if I could hand that I could handle anything!

    Gave up 21 years ago

I was smokin 40+ per day when the missis came home and told me she was preggers. I screwed up 1/2 a pack and cold turkeyed and never smoked since.....sons 21 next month.
Was pretty easy as I wanted a reason to stop. The plan I used has worked for others as well. A committed mind!

Started when i was at school got caught by my father as was givin a choice i could keep smoking or keep my m/bike. If i kept smoking then the bike was to be sold and cigs would be bought with the money and i would have to smoke them all. Was easy to make up mind although i do think that sometimes the old man wish i hadnt kept the bike.

I smoke the occasional fine cigar - one or two per year.

I would hazard a guess that I'm more likely to die from inhaling vehicle emissions over the course of my life or being taken out by some inattentive road user than from the cigars.
