I try and go over once a weekend, especially if I need to blow off some steam.

Turn up at Caltex Rimutaka on a good weather Sunday at 10.30, introduce yourself, and there's bound to be a group willing to let you tag along.

Or pm me and I'll let you know when I'm going over next. I'll show you the legal speed way over the takas if you like.

Just don't try and go over with Jimbo600, Deano, White Trash or Cycosis. They'll just lead you into trouble
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

    There is no limit

to the trips over the Rimus that one should make. The only limiting factor should be work, and weather. (Oh, the lack of a bike may be a problem).

Hey, just turn up at Caltex rimutaka (in Upper hutt) on Sunday between 8:30 and 10:30 ish, and say hi and tag along. Most people are happy to have new people with them.

If you don't want to waste your time, or come out for nothing, post something on here first, asking who wants to go for a ride. Organise a time, etc...

How long have you been riding?

I have a loose arrangement with a few mates that any fine Sunday we turn up at Caltex Rimutaka on SH2 (north end of Upper Hutt) at 8.30am and head over the hill.

Some Sunday's I'm not there (away at race meetings usually) but I don't need to be there for the ride to happen. We don't tend to ride too fast but it's a very flexible arrangement where we decide where to go and meet up there - those who want to hoon ahead are welcome to do so, those of us who prefer to trundle at a more sedate pace do so also.

Our rides include an obligatory stop at the Flying Fish in Martinborough, at least once.

Anyone is welcome to join us any time they wish (I prob won't be there this Sunday as we'll probably head north after Manfeild).

I'm not really up on where the drinking establishments are in Wgtn but why doesn't someone suggest a suitable place for us to meet on the 28th? Did you mean in the evening Yokai? (perhaps around 6pm onwards?) Note: went to the Dog and Bone in Lambton Quay for lunch yesterday, it had lovely food at a reasonable price (used to be Paris before the fire)

That would be perfect! I would love that.... All I need is to get out around 9pm (I've got sports the next day) .... beers and food / just beers - I don't care - I just wanna meet you all!

    28th. Hmmmmmm.

I've got a staff doo that night, should be ready to rock and roll somewhere by about 10.

Bear in mind, after three hours drinking, I'll be off my tits and not much fun to be around. Ask CSL, Jazbug, Slipstream, Quasi, Cajun (haven't heard from him for a while?!), Jimbo, Deano or Fizzerman. They'll all confirm it.

I said DECENT coffee. And you DARED to mention fuel. Astoria makes decent coffee, but ruins it with the high brow mentality and lacksadaisical staff. Plus it's always too frigging busy to enjoy the environment. As for the rest PAH

Astoria coffee is horrid! I don't believe I ever had a decent coffee from that establishment yet. I agree with you about the staff though Jim.

BTW - the hill is known as the Taka's.

Abbreviating to Rimu's or Rima's sounds like "Rimmers", as Fizzerman now knows.

We don't want any sexual connotations of that kind please. It's bad enough with all the "gay" comments in here.

Alarumba - Thursday night rides are good (the one before going to the pub that is, and not up Pie Cock 2 hours after it's been reopened).

No ride on tonight as far as Im aware but pm me or WT mid week next week and we can let you know whats happening.

Oh. OK. Makes mental note not to invite you to coffee any further north than "the usual"...
