I am yet to see what the big deal is about. Seems like an ordinary Wellington day in Auckland, that's all.

Talked to my folks in Leigh (just north of Warkworth) not long ago...its getting worse there....the old mans Pagola is almost kaput, and the fire brigade have been called out a few times already...I'm wonderin if it will be another Bola!
Our power has just come back on, been off for nearly 2 hours. Warkworth brigade have just been called out again, this probably the 6th for the day! It is gaining strength up here for sure.
The barometer is still dropping, this is not anywhere near over I can assure you.
Rain has almost stopped in Whangaparaoa, but the house is shaking like a bastard-high wind and big waves in the normally calm and sheltered Arkles Bay.
A few roofs will be lost down here, no question!
Yepper, will be a doozy for sure. Typical me though, planned a roast for tea, hope the power plays the game.
I just rang my Mother in Thames, the screen door on her back door has been banging and banging all morning, then it stopped. She went to see what had happened it has been flung open so hard it is now embedded in the porch railings where she says it can stay...LOL

Not too bad in Onehunga, but then Easterly's probably one of the better directions to cop it from.
I'm sat watching this live weather feed from over the harbour.
I am on the eastern side of the Coast and we are getting hammered....
I now have a lot more light in my lounge as the pohutakawa tree next to me has snapped (yay legal firewood) and the pergola roof went for a wee fly up the back yard.
Damn Westpac chopper was up before so if they can cope it cant be that bad...just feels like it.
