    Ha, I already been out and helped a mate nail down a loose piece of roofing iron.

    I hate rooves in the dry, today was just damn freaky, the wind is just coming straight off the ocean into the front of our house!

    the rain isn't the authorites main concern its the wind and other things thats making this so bad

    i wouldn't advise going to meremere just yet

    Yes just saw that on the news. Police and C.D advising people not to go out tonight. Eye of storm to pass over Auckland around midnight.
    then another one forcast next week.

    I think on the whole I prefer these winter storms, the summer ones from the Pacific can be far more destructive for us.

    Still got pretty strong winds over here but the house isnt shaking like earlier this arvo.....only birds I saw today were flying backwards. Still not as bad as the big storm last year I dont think.

    Now that storm was serious shit, we lost a fence a few trees and many house around us lost roofs....this time our letterbox is on its side but thats about it!

    If your comin' around bring some gin and tonics we are getting low... a coupla gallons of white rum will also be needed
