It is a day past the weekend, and all the memorys vivid in ones mind. As i said the trip up was awesome... great rideing through some of the best parts of the Island. Then there was the site, getting through the gate and tent set up, worked well. The weather bode well to begin, a drink or three, soem food, and a real pleasent time, Nothing like the antics of last year, and that may be a good thing...
A good sleep I might add, waking feeling great, and a little sad the weather was not on my side. really wanting to ride, but wanted to enjoy it to. That indecision left me at the camp for the day. I was a good boy and did not take up the drink offer at around 10am, choosing water and tea instead. Pansy I know!!!!
The day progressed with rain and card playing in the kitchen. Breaks int he rain lead to a whitebait sandwhich and some drinkks. A nice afternoon chilled out.
The night was cool. The band's played, drink was drunk, food was ate.
Pictures I guess best tell the story.
Evidence gathers at the digusting wet t, jock and strippers, in order to stop these carrying on's in the future.
Bed after gettign soaked at 12.30ish am.
I had my first Rally ROOT!!!!!!
It left me waking all through the night with a sore back....
I had not realised I had picthed my tent right accross a tree root under the ground, never felt it on the first night.... lets say i never imagined a rally root to be that satisfying... and that was exactly as it was
Woke early, packed and McD'ed. Rode to Blenhiem... again nice roads... stoped at Mr S's folks for a hi di hi, then on the road again.
Had not filled the bike since friday in Nelson, and fuel light came on some ways from Kaikoura.... and looking at the point ahead it seemed way further then my gas would take me.... eased off a little, and only one litre to spare.
Lunch of fish, and Shrek and Helenoftroy shot by the cafe.
And as said rode back with them, another stretch of enjoyable roads and company.
The next will be My first at the Magpie.
I will have some pics up soon.. net seems a bit go slow tonight. I have some vid clips... but unlikely to post much as host 's would not like the content.
Till next time.....

Good sports for just confiscating the bottle - might have been better for me if they'd taken the whole lot away... Oh well.
And thank to you too. Always good to meet more good folks! As for the hangovers... I can only blame myself.Originally Posted by FLYMO
No such thing as too much dancing or too much drinking!
Gee, you're making me blush... But you are mistaken, my arse was sore - not hot.Originally Posted by my-bonaventure

Well i had a mint weekend!
And learnt some new things:
The scarey contents of mens handbags.
How much fun riding in the rain is. (lots).
The danger of fences in the dark, and how to fall in a ladylike manner.
The fact that it doesnt matter how high your IQ is, you still end up drinking from a paper cup.
How great mygsxf rocks out in a rain poncho.
How younger men are better (thanks hel).
That pregnant women need chairs,
And whiskey sends gingers nuts. Kidding.
Thanks everybody else to for making it a great weekend!![]()
Putting the boot in
Well, I'm a generous guy(besides it's not quite so much fun being drunk alone...)
I've said it before and shall say it again: it isn't about how much you can drink, but about how drunk you can get.
In my experience only very stupid people end up drinking from paper cups.![]()

...and that gingas sent in search of chairs should be given VERY CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS (like "look in the tent") or they get lost for an hour or more and return WITHOUT said chair... grumble grumble.
Good weekend people! And thanks for being my card shark ...err partner, Shrek. Mr Sensible and HOT just dont have what it takes to beat us eh?![]()

Hey, its a MANBAG, sigh. Besides there's nothing wrong with the contents of my bag.
HoT and I will get you next time! Good couple of games.
All in all a great weekend. As GB has said we done a fair few kms (though not as much as one skite from Alex).
Managed to drank copious quantities of alcohol
Got to meet up with all the old faces and some new ones, good stuff.
Roll on the Magpie.![]()
