Still no disc, huh??
"...you meet the weirdest people riding a Guzzi !!..."
Hey Chris the disc arrived this morning. Cheers for that.
I see you are running a Loncin motor. What's the spec/mods on yours. I'm running a Loncin 150 in an FXR frame. Done a few mods too.
Care to swap notes, I need to wring a bit more out of mine to catch the CB125t's.
Steve
Glad you got the disc
Well, I raced just yesterday. A couple of things came out from that.
I NEED MORE HP !!!
Mine is bog stock, save for a 30mm pumper carb. Unfort the twins, the FXR and 2 strokes were a lot faster. Some the issue I found was my gearing was still a tad tall so if I had geared it down it may have made a difference.
I did a little testing with the revcounter and found that the power drops off at around 10-10500rpm.
I did see me pulling 11,500rpm a few times during the heat of battle, but those revs I reckon are about all the motor will take and I wouldn't recommend doing that too often !!
My next move is pulling the head off and seeing what I can do with the ports plus look at "hottening" the camshaft for lift and duration. The motors stock are very mild and reckon you can squeeze some more hp's without too much effort and expense.
The carb is as big as the rules let you go for a 150 (I think, don't quote me though).
I'm also going to relook at the pipe and seeing if I can match the header length for the hp I need. The Slipway is a tight track and mid-range is good, but from what I've seen of the faster tracks, the Loncins are not match for the FXR's etc.
okay, enough crappiola, I'd be more than happy to share and receive notes on Loncin tuning.
