I think they are interesting and I suspect there will be more like them in the future.
At least it is not purple - so a little more Hetero than the purple one.

But is this even a scooter? More like an automatic tourer bike.

Yeah I doubt anyone would buy an automatic bike or scooter with the hopes of winning races against sports bikes. I also doubt that the sports bikes fans care about anything that is not designed to be fast.

Really it is a different bike for riders that have different wants/needs to the sports bike fans.

But then what? If thats the case then they want a tourer... and there are plenty of those around.

Its just for people who are 'too fucking scared to ride a proper bike'

And if I recall that model shares its engine/transmission with an Aprilia bike.
Scooter wheels get bigger and bike wheels get smaller.
The dividing line line between bike and scooter is becoming somewhat indistinct...

Oh yeah, plenty of tourers around. But how many automatic tourers are there? Maybe some riders have tried the scooters and love the transmission, but prefer a bigger tourer style bike - tada the Honda DN-01.

Don't ask me, I've never ridden one - maybe this rather different looking bike is a great bike?

The GP800 sure is a lot of fun, it makes 75 odd horses and is pretty entertaining to ride. The auto works great and as a sporty touring machine it does the job well.. if you want a more "sporty" ride. Get the Aprilia Mana... same engine, still auto and with storage for a helmet.

Wait till they allow auto transmissions in Motogp...

I predict manual shift will go the way of the dodo within the next 20 years whether you like it or not haha
