The outlet is in Albany just off SH1 next to Turners car auctions. Prices are over 50% cheaper than the website states. Got a $170 top for $69, I have signed up to their newsletter that lets you know when new boxes of stuff come in - i'll keep you posted

Each to their own I guess, but I find Wool to be superior to polyprop in respect to both heat and comfort. Other thing with the Merino is in summer it does feel cooler.

Apparently Peter Blake wore the same Merino kit continuously in his round the world in 80 days challenge and you could still stand down wind of him at the end.

Personally I have done the same icebreaker top for 3 days with no problem ( well no comments anyway ).

Perhaps we should do a mass consumer test and see who can get one the smelliest over 80n days!!!

I would stay away from it if I was you lot! It's nasty...once you buy it you'll never want anything else Which leads to forking out shitloads of money even if it is on special. Still it's WELL worth it. I used to have Kathmandu stuff but it's not even in the same league as Icebreaker.

As for wicking, being an ex-rower icebreaker (merino) wicks better than polyprops hence why it doesn't smell. But like what was said, each to there own.

I can vouch (sp?) for the smell test as well. A guy at work wore his all week without washing it and only aired it at night when bed time rolled around just to test the theory. Shared offices and all that crap. The only thing I noticed was that it didn't smell like laundry powder (the only way to know that it hadn't been washed).

I think I may have to have a look at the shop...bugger, it's started again. And I thought I was over my addiction

Stopped in yesterday and picked up a top. $79 down from $189 because it was printed without the logo.

    It's AMAZING.

    They had flyers up:
    Big Boys Sale
    Sizes L, XL & XXL
    Sunday 3rd August
    10-4pm
    Sausage Sizzle
    Spot Prizes

    At the Albany branch.

She said that they have all sorts of things, will have to go in to get some bottoms, and probably another top.

    Woot!

Recently purchased merino gear from Peter at Body and Bike in Christchurch via Trade Me. Great gear and interesting sales pitch as quoted below - says it all

    Contact email: peter@bodyandbike.co.nz

    Grown in New Zealand.
    Made in New Zealand.
    New Zealand seller.

Amazing!! 100% Merino keeps you warm in winter but cool in summer, one of natures wonders.

Why pay $69.95 for something to break the ice (or the bank, and its made in China!), or even $99.95 for one from Nepals capital city.

Buy Now for only $50.00 (I could have said $49.95 to make it sound better, but we all know thats $50).

Grown and made in New Zealand, not like some others who use NZ wool but are made in China.

Why put up with PolyProps that start smelling after a couple of months. 100% natural, 100% Merino wool does not pick up your smell.

Sure, I dont have several dozen trendy colours, but when they are underneath, who really cares. If you want the trendy colours, then perhaps you better wander off to town, in the cold and wet, between 9 am and 6 pm, and get yourself some. Or you could click Buy Now from the comfort of your home (or office) and have one delivered to your home.

Short sleeve only available in Vee Neck.

    Colours: Black, Navy or White.

Not all colour/size combinations available all the time.

Sizes available, chest measurement in cm:
    S 86-92 (Height 150-158)
    M 92-98 (Height 158-166)
    L 98-104 (Height 166-174)
    XL 104-110 (Height 174-182)
    2XL 110-116 (Height 182-190)
    3XL 116-122 (Height 182-190)
Due to the big variation in both womens and mens as to height versus chest size, this sizing chart should only be used as a guide.

Auction winner to select colour and size.

Also available, long sleeve vee and crew neck, singlet and pants.

    Product Code: VNSS
    Colour Code: Blk, Nvy, Wht
    Size Code: S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL

Please use codes as bank reference e.g. VNSS-Blk-L

These garments are made from 21 micron, 190gsm (grams per square metre) New Zealand Merino.

Two of us who did the Southern Cross endurance ride wore Icebreaker gear continuously. The ride, plus getting there and home again was 8 days and there was no smell at all. This stuff really delivers

I wore the same wool t shirt for a week under leathers touring in summer. A cotton T shirt is minging after a day.

    It is fantastic stuff.

I found out about the icebreaker albany outlet from Mack the Knife.

Bought a 260 weigh long sleeve mid layer but use it as a base layer. a size to big but being 59 dollars i had to get it. has nice thumb holes as well to make it like gloves or a overlap with my riding gloves.

I also bought some streachy wool gloves that i fit into my leather gloves. Riding in the rain and cool nights with these on under my summer gloves works great!

Loaned them to BiK3RChiK as well when they came out to meet me that day and ride.

I am sold on the merino stuff. wearing it most days. I look at it like. Do I want to wear a shirt that needs washing after every use. Dont think so.

    No issues with smell yet!

Heading down to start my south island portion of the tour and i'll put it to the test as well there!

    Icebreaker & Norsewear in Otaki

Just been in to the Otaki Icebreaker outlet, some great deals in there.

Got a bodyfit 260mg zip up neck top for $80, down from $169.

Also got Skin 200 thermals, pants $39, top $30, down from $99 each. They've got a big stack of mens & ladies thermals marked down at the moment.

The only bugger is that it's all for hubby....next time it's my turn!

Norsewear across the road from Icebreaker have a big range of ladies jumpers & jackets and nice merino tops marked down to really good prices at the moment, saw some fo $50 and $69). Mens as well but not as much unless you want the big thick outdoorsy stuff. They also have a decent range of really nice merino thermals at $50, nice ladies ones as well but didn't see the price - saw ladies singlets (with the thin shoulder straps) at $30 each.

If you are looking for woolies and passing through Otaki, it's a good place to stop!
