Howzit me new on this site to I have a Gixxer 11 as well mine is a 94 my last 2 sets of tires have been dunlop d221 sportmax i ride all weather and all roads(I live down a 4k gravel road)at varying ranges of speed and my dunlops have kept me confident in my tire choice.I have a 180 on the rear as well and it gives me confidents when leaning over.as for longevity i will quote a mate who first saw my bike when i brought. " hell do you have shares in a tire shop".I get about 6k out of a rear and my last one cost $320.Try and keep the burn outs to a mininum and they may last longer.GO THE GIXXERS

I got back into biking with one of these...I tried a couple of tyre types and lastly ran 120-70/180-55 Z6 Metzlers. Gave me over 10k on the rear and still going when I sold her. I would suggest that you give serious thought to Pilot Road 2. These will give you a good amount of all-over grip and last well. On my current bike, I'm running these and had no whoopsy moments and with around 11k down they are looking good, and likely to go as long as 20k.
    Beat that.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

    Welcome

Hi, welcome to the site, thats a sweet bike to have there, hope you have many good rides on it. Cannot offer much on the tires, but i think that the bridgestone battalax is a pretty good one for all general conditions.

Welcome aboard mate! Great to see gixxers that are not "new" and have a few miles under their belt.

Hey Hey, welcome abord. I'm on an 89 750GSX F. Running Battalax front & rear and they do me really well although I don't push that hard. Done plenty of trips to Whangamata and back, both wet and dry and never had any problems.
If you can keep your head when all about you are loosing theirs.........it's quite possible you haven't grasped the situation.

    Welcome.

    5.5" rim is good for a 180...

Had the '90 GSXR750... Was a nice bike back then... They actually had character. Not like the sheep squadron of today...
