    New vehicle registration prices

Loving the new registration prices wonder what the justification for bumping up the registration amount is this time? Surely they would be making enough additional funds given the increase in petrol price.

$328 per year for a bike is a hefty amount

    You register your bike?!!!!
Keep it on hold, keep a current WOF on it when in use.
If you get pulled for no Reg, and get a ticket, go reg that day for 3 mths, present the ticket to the police, ticket squashed.
The odds of you being pulled and ticketed, IF YOU ARE A SAFE RIDER, are low.
Me? been pulled twice in the past 5 years, thats a heap of free registration time.....just keep a current WOF and ride sensibly, ( thats sencibile, not slow)

But then you Aucklanders are all about showing off and getting attention
    (coro loop springs to mind)
so go register you bike, only a dollar a day........

try owning a diesel van at the moment?

not only is diesel getting up with petrol prices, but the road user tax has gone up plus rego has gone up $60 a year as apposed to $30 a year for a car!!!!!

Pretty sure those prices are to get your vehicle newly Registered, not reregistered.

tell me about it, just cost me $304 to reg the van for 12 months, seems to be a new class called non petrol something, feekers. Still got a couple of 1000 RUC left but not looking forward to buying a new lot at the rip off prices, diesel is no longer cheaper than petrol vehicles to drive.

I think these increases are due to higher ACC levies, and the increase for petrol vehicles is smaller because they've also added 2c per litre to the petrol tax.

That really grinds my gears. Surely Condescending Cullen budgeted for a certain amount of revenue from petrol tax......ergo, as the price keeps increasing, so too does their percentage 'take' rise also...so why didn't they lower the tax ?

More BS about needing roading infrastructure ? So there can be more cars on the road ? Pffftt

To relicence costs $267 for over 60cc. I presume the $328 is for putting a new bike on the road.
