You've misread the post mate, that's exactly what I thought would be happening.....

    BIGBOSSMAN:

Archer W.C's advice is well worth following with regard to the run in procedure... (Especially the MINERAL OIL bit - my personal recommendation would be to use mineral oil right through to around 2.5k k's & then if you really want to, go to a semi synthetic... Unless your racing the bike, full synthetics are simply not required)

Or you like the idea of extended service intervals
So what's the reasoning behind the elaborate run in procedure? Given that bikes are dyno'd before leaving the factory why avoid something that has already been done? With bearings running on an oil wedge not metal on metal the only bedding process of note is the piston rings. Given that your average bike these days is designed to pull over 10,000 revs per minute (in many cases much more) wouldn't any bedding process happens in minutes not hours?

Hey thanks everybody for your pearls of wisdom (even you Brian ya big pansy!).
I'll keep the original ECU and shit-can on my new GREEN ZX10R until 1000K then tear them off as soon as I can. This is gonna be good...

Yep, ha ha another bloody Kwaka - my 2nd one! Dunno why, the last 10 was such a blinder I'm eager for more of the same but an updated package. I think like most of the litre bikes these days it looks a bit poo as standard, but it'll come to life with a bit of bling. We gotta do Hampton Downs next year bro YEE HAA!!

Damn right Shane, it's not that far away either - s'posed to open in Feb next year.
I'll check on the oil situation, a full tank of gas wouldn't go amiss as well!
