    TL1000SX fuses (where?)

    Hi

This is a bit of a dumb question but without all the detail...

My son has just picked up a '99 TL1000 and is enroute from Auckland to Christchurch. The fuse for the indicators has blown (don't ask how) and it would be real helpful if someone can just reply with where to find the fuses.

    Thanks
I have just found out that they have removed the word gullible from the dictionary

    What Mike said.
It's on the righthand side of the fairing bracket.
It never hurts to check the wiring coming out of that fuse box as it can rub on the fairing bracket until it shorts.

Nice choice on the TLS 1999 has all the upgrade parts also.

    Appreciated

    Thanks guys

Yes the longer part of the story is that he bought the TL from TradeMe as a "writeoff" with about $8k of damage from a side on with a car. However the damage looked mostly cosmetic (faring, radiator, , rear brake pedal, indicator etc) but nothing bent. So he figures that he can safely ride it back to Chch in the middle of winter with a storm brewing. As you can tell I was really supportive.

Anyhow, it could help getting the other three indicators going.

    Update with pics

Well Dan (the son) got home OK. Said that the road along Kapiti Coast looked like a truck had dumped a load of rock and gravel. As it was looking rough to ride all the way overnight Wednes/Thurs after arriving Picton at 11am I picked him and the bike up in Kaikoura at 2am yesterday. Surprising how little traffic there is at that time so parked 4WD and trailer across the road and pushed bike straight onto trailer from a handy bank - easy.

Without the indicator fuse, he had no indicators (duh) or dash readings or tail light etc so strapped a Warehouse cycle light to the tail. Replaced fuse now and all is good. Only other damage to bike of possible importance was the rear brake pedal had lost the knob so I welded up a replacement which seemed to work OK (see pic). He reakons it should be good for a warrant. Otherwise only cosmetic damage to farings on RHS (pic).

Morcs, is the screen tinted or not?

Thanks again for the help guys.
