When I started out young, reckless and with bigger balls I did better in the wet. As I got older I learnt how to make the bike handle and could afford better bikes and prefered the dry. Now I just plod around on the road so dont have a choice.

    Dry or soaking, awesome fun!!

The inbetween stuff can be a bit annoying though. It gets too dry and you've got wets on and you've just fkd $$. Racing in slightly damp on slicks can become a bit unpredictable if it gets wet real quick!

    I love the wet.......
its a great equalizer.... i would say it separates the men from the boys... but it doesnt...

and as for SVR's comments... i was 1.3 seconds off my PB (in the dry) and scraping pegs round 3 corners last VMCC round... so no, wet is just as fast.. and way more fun!! the adrenalin is a total buzz when you hit the grid lines!

I agree - if you're going to ride roughly the same lap times wet or dry, you'll have more excitement and get way better placings in the wet...

i had my VERY FIRST ride in tha rain on my first roadbike ive owned at round 3 actrix winter series a few weekends ago. been riding for 5 months now, won two races(one superbike and one supersport) and ran 1.14s and did a few 1.14flats in the last race. it was pretty wet and took it tentatively till i learnt how much traction there really is.
    was alot of fun!

my point though, is that kiwis are top internationals in road racing, motorcross, trials, cross country, etc because we have to ride ALL weather conditions due to our crazy lower southern hemisphere weather patterns, and we are at the top because we are hardened tough kiwis!

it seems we are softening in road racing and motorcross especially(have noticed it alot in the up and coming generation of racers).
we grew up racing motorcross and sometimes riding round hilly tracks so wet and muddy you could water ski in it! at the end of the day its just rain and its the same for everyone in the race. and very rarely are moto gp and world superbike races cancelled due to rain etc.

So not aiming this at anyone(not even anyone in this topic!) or at any one motorsport, ..................HARDEN THE FUCK UP!! (QOUTE: CHOPPA REID-AUSTRALIA)
Actually in the last race I didn't think you were going to stay upright with the moment out of the hairpin. Maybe you scared Nick Cole into submission.

Keep an eye on this guy he's an exciting racer.

Ive only raced in the wet once so this is just my humble opinion, the wet can be alot of fun but if youve got the wrong tyres it can be frustrateing, still a shit load of fun though. With the bike moveing all over the place, but i must admit to preferring the dry just because you know you have to be really pushing the bike and yourself to the limits to get its full potential and the results.

In conclusion the wet is fun. The dry is better BUT NO MATTER THE CONDITIONS ILL ALLWAYS GIVE IT MY BEST SHOT.
