    Life On Mars...

Well, season 2 has come to an end...I loved the series. Great ending!
There is no series 3, instead will be a spin off called Ashes To Ashes (another bowie title) set in 1981. Look forward to seeing that.
The thing that ticks me off is how the yanks have once again taken a good series and ruined it by doing their own version of it. Life on Mars will screen in the US in their fall. And after seeing the trailer I think it will be a load of crap...
Here is the trailer we all know to the UK version

and here is the US version...

Dam no 3rd season. Mind you the final tonight wrapped it all up nicely.

I'll look forward to the spin-off and ensure I totally ignore the US version.

WTF can't the Americans just watch the English one -are they so thick that they cannot understand the Queens language or cope with a foreign location?

The worst US take of a brilliant UK series was Fitz. A pathetically watered down version of Cracker, one of the best TV series ever made.

Just watched the first series the second was on the same time as Waking the Dead.

So how did it end? Was it all a dream or did he get knocked down into a time warp??

The way I see it is this..he was in some kind of timeslip......when he got outta the coma he was talkin to his old lady and mentioned a conversation with the jamacan barkeeper about how when you are living you feel life...feel the wind pain etc, but when yopu are dreaming you dont...cut scene to big office meeting and he is daydreaming, someone snaps him outta it and then mentions to him he is bleeding...he has cut himself on scissors or something...he cant feel it....he goes up to the roof....walks around a bit...then runs for the ledge and jumps.....

....wakes up back in 1973....saves the day....kisses the girl...she asks him if he will stay...he says yes....end of story!

Who would know, this is the nation that wanted to remake Fawlty Towers but without Basil...I mean W.T.F?

It is pretty good. Steve Carrell makes it, and Dwight.

The way i look at it is that it could have gone the way of Star Trek (seasons one and two never less than very good, occasionally brilliant but season three had some complete turkeys in it, and only one or two good ones).

I thought Life on Mars was excellent. Gene Hunt was the best UK TV cop since Jack Regan in the Sweeney, or the guy in Edge of Darkness.

Hopefully the spinoff will have Gene in it. Sam was a bit wet.

Nice how the two bowie song titles are "era specific" too: Life on Mars for 73, then Ashes to Ashes for the '80's.

I will watch at least the first couple episodes: the goodwill engendered by LOM will last that long even if the spinoff is crap.

There were only ever 12 episodes of Fawlty Towers too, and only three years of Black Books.

At least the Poms know when to stop stuff. (except Corrie which should have had a bullet in the head in 1973)
