It's her B'day on the 13th?
It's her B'day on the 13th?
Oh yeah - I live in Sydney and she's in Auckland. So will have to be something that can easily be posted or arranged online.
Also flowers and choccies are for girl friends - yeah I'm asking her too - but KB never fails![]()
Gifts To Remember - depends on what you want but is a no-fail idea.
Who, me? I just wander from thread to thread.
A lil info might help... What sort of hobbies does she have?

I've no idea how old yer mama is but I bought my mom in law one o them photo frames that yer put an sd card in, so the picture keeps changing.
The relevence of the age is I put all her grand kids on the sd card so she's got constant changing grandkid photos. Drives me mad but she loves it.
Failing that most moms are just happy if ya remember, however boring the prezzie, bless em.![]()
Oh bugger

Right she's close to 60 now. Worked 25 years as a scientist in Chemical Oceanography.
Hobbies? When not playing with our mad terrier and dealing with my stupid twin 18 year old sisters - used to stich her own clothes, but her arthritis is kicking in now... don't think she has time for hobbies.
Her activities/ How she spends her time:
blood and dealing with those who feel scared giving blood.
- Works for ASB Business Banking part time - paid employment
- Volunteers at Auckland Hospital emergency ward as a "Friends of St John". Builds a relationship with trauma patients and terminally ill patients after the docs have moved on to other patients to keep them calm.
- Volunteer driver for the Red Cross meals on wheels program
- Volunteer driver taxi'ing patients for check-ups for the Cancer Society
- Volunteers at Blood Banks taking
Whilst the silly answers are still happening....
A new dot for her forehead. At 60, the old one is probably well-faded now.
The SD/frame is a good'un...maybe you could get her some grandchildren to put in it?

Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
Based on all of that, I personally would get her something like a couple of hour at a spa geting a massage or something.
May sound naff to you boys, but she is obviously a very selfless lady, giving her time to others who need it, and so a bit of pampering might be nice.
Mate - pick up the phone, have some flowers delivered.
Then pick up the phone a second time and tell her you wish you were here for the big day - and that you love her. Getting that from your kids is the MOST amasing thing ever.

Ive used them and they are great they have a good range of gifts and come nicely presented. I sent my Mum a Birthday cake and flowers, she loved it![]()
A magazine subscription if there are any mags she might like to get regularly. (don't think motorbike mags qualify) That way she gets a present every week or month from you. Extra brownie points!!
She sounds like a smart lady... National Geographic, New Scientist, Time, Listener, Home and Garden, North and South...
