    Maths Tutor?

Anyone in Auckland a maths tutor... I need to re-learn 6th form algebra and trig over the next 3-4weeks.

Yes, I have a couple of books to work from, but sometimes it helps to have someone that can explain things a bit better in order to make things stick.

Wish I could help you! I am maths for dummies personified...I failed that course too...

Dont listen to the knocks from Katman, he really lowers himself sometimes, taking a peck at a young man trying to make his way in the world is pathetic.

    I really wish I could help...Good luck!

Best of luck in whatever you are trying to achieve here R6_kid.

The adage: "It is better to try and fail, than never to try at all" springs to mind.

Persistence is one of the great virtues of a winner, so if at first you don't succeed.......etc! Good luck, John.

Sorry, im in Wellington. The strange thing about maths is that when you don't know it it seems totally impenetrable gokbeldygook but once you do understand it it seems like pure common sense and nothing could be simpler...

Just sit down and work on it. You will see the light sooner than you think.

Since I'm not familiar with the NZ highschool system I don't know what you mean by 6th form algebra and trig.

However, I am sure that the university or polytec runs refresher courses intended for people who wants to get back into studying... that might be a good way to go.

I'm not a very good mathematician, but would say that mathematical analysis and algebra part of my "toolbox" - so if you have a specific question do feel free to send me a PM.

That comment is useless without pictures!
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)

No need to be a knocker - Just because he has higher aspirations than you its not a reason to have a dig.

He knows there is a gap in his skill base and he is trying to find someone to help? I would call that smart.

I cannot help - but best of luck with the study / exams.

How about getting in touch with Universities around and seeing if any tutors are advertised on their message boards? or you could go there yourself...

Also check the local newspapers, although that doesn't give you a personal reference sort of thing.

Have you posted in the Uni section on here? These guys are bound to know something / someone who might help.

Good luck buddy, love to see you want more out of life.

I teach year 5 (9-10 year olds) so sorry, I can't help you. Now, if you want to learn your times tables up to 15 (YES, 15, not just 12 anymore), that's a different story. Good luck!
