    Well bugger me...

A full afternoon triming and gently forcing the new seat into place and we have a runner... Bastard bloody stupid motorbike...

Weather looks naff... Is it on rain or shine or is there a rain date. I have a new rear tyre (slippery) and don't feel the need to risk death and get all wet just for a cheap lunch.

Same. I won't be going out tomorrow. I also have a new tyre (well, it's scrubbed in - a ride to Napier and back today took care of that!) but mostly I need to get paid and I'm tired :spudwhat:

I think I shall attempt fitting my radiator guard

Oh if it's ON I'll be there.....

I'll just be really pissed off to ride in from Kapiti in the damn rain to find they cancelled it....

    So where was everyone ????

Despite how it looked the weather was very good for the entire trip.

Nice crowd at the starting point. NOTE: must buy a black leather jacket to wear when I'm on a Harley ride. Wearing a red/black textile jacket does make you stand out somewhat.

First checkpoint was the piecock hill lookout. Very nice ride up except for the major puncture I got on my 1 day old rear tyre !!! Big thanks to Geoff for not only giving me his repair kit but for also doing all the work !!!

From there to the shannon checkpoint. Traffic was held up big time before Otaki due to a chemical spill earlier that morning. The bikes got through but I wouldn't fancy being in a car.

Shannon to Foxton and next checkpoint at the Motorcycle museum on SH1.

Then finish at Waikawa domain. Nice bunch of people, good food and no accidents.

Then head home with Deano to be stopped only a few hundred metres from SH2 when an accident has blocked the road just below the Haywards power station. Police advise that they need 30-60 minutes to photo and document the accident so no choice but to turn around and take the long way home.

All in all a good day.

    Photo's to follow.....

Yes my ride called me at 7.30 and we decided that it was too wet & windy. Next time and when I have my own bike back *sigh*

It couldn't possibly have had anything to do with the fact that I had got to bed at 3am that morning though.

    Sorry guys!
Was at Manfeild all day today.
    Got a good sunburn too!

    Sounds like an enjoyable ride.
The spill, was a fertilizer truck that had rolled. Looked pretty nasty!
It had just happened as i went through in the morning.
Motorcycing is not a hobby, It is a way of life!

    Missed forever! NEVER FORGOTTEN!!

A fertilizer truck, that would explain the smell !!!

PS, might be in on Wednesday to get the puncture repair looked at. It did a wonderful job for the day but I might want something a bit more solid in place for the next 12,000k.

Thankyou to those who came, I'm sure you'll agree the weather wasn't too bad and the majority of HOGsters loved having us there.

Some VERY high speed touring was had and apart from the traffic fuck up on SH1, it was a great day.

Thankyou to the HOG chapter for the invite. You guys are a pleasure to wheelie past.

    Good onya WT..

Yes, it was generally a pretty well organised event and we were well chuffed to be invited. Lotsa fun.

One teeny suggestion. Put the organisers cell number on the lunch voucher so you can find youse guys should we get diverted. As we did... (sigh) Mostly my fault. I was getting a little worried about lunch with my diabetes. Not a good look getting nervy and riding a bike.

Shit they had the catering sorted eh! Those donuts at the start was a classic!

    Decent folks, lots a fun...

That was all me baby! Great thing is, I over catered, I'm living off plain donuts, fruit donuts, chocolate eclaires and fruit eclaires for the next week.

    Me no sirry.
