Hmmm - perhaps I should try that in the next batch. My beers only non- organic if I leave a spoon in the cask when it's brewing.

Hmm...barley...hops...yeast...water.. all seems fairly organic to me. Don't know of any inorganic substances added to beer......

I suspect that some of the preservatives used in large breweries to make cheap mass-market beers are sourced directly from the waste bins at pesticide manufacturers.

What he said. Ever notice how the commercial beers will retain a head despite detergent residues in the glassware whereas natural or organic beers go flat instantly in the same situation? Chemicals to retain head, preservatives to help the beer travel internationally, sterilising agents used in bottling equipment. All that is banned in a certified organic production line.

From personal experience I'd far sooner be recovering from a serious session
on organic (Founders, Whitecliffs or Emersons) or a 'natural' boutique brewed beer than suffer the after effects of the chemical swill the big breweries fob off as beer.

Beer below 3% alcohol is isotonic, i.e the liquid content is sufficient to overcome the effects of the alcohol.
