TVNZ Commentary: moronic, or really, really moronic.

I'd actually like to know something about the context of the various visual spectacles as they happen. But the commentary just makes me want to throw things at the TV. Argh!

Yup, my partner kinda insist on watching it in the background and that has to be the most vacant commentary I have heard for a long long time.

you guys must have wax build up in your ears i've been watching it from the start and they have been giving brief statements of what is going on.

I've also been amazed at what the chineese have put on and think its the most best opening to an Olympics i've seen

It's just another big carnival... with the inane commentary that is bound to accompany it.

And yes, it's quite impressive what has been put on for this ceremony considering that a significant part of the chinese population is living in poverty - so much for well meaning communism eh!

As I said, my partner is insisting on watching it - and I can't be arse moving the laptop - so yes, I am effectively being forced to watch it.

Doesn't the social and political aspects of the event affect you at all?

Pity about the drink - I shall have one for your steadfastness then

Anyway, at least I just saw an old high-school classmate from way back. She's rowing for Denmark.

I watched most of it! I thought the visuals were spectacular! I was very impressed with how in sync all those preformers were .. the work that went on to pull that off! you have to give credit to the preformers, I also learnt a thing or two .. call me daft .. but I didnt know the Chinese invented paper & paint .. clever little dickies. I think I turned the lappy off about the time the Caymen Islands came out or was it Jamaica? can't remember. Sorry NZ!

you can't be arsed moving sounds more like being lazy than being forced to watch

you other comment i don't really know or understand it to be affected, on a side note i try to seperate politics and other stuff from sport call me a purist.

anything sport you name it i've most likely tried it and if not i'd try it
