The answer is Sam Bass. Sam had no time for Samuel Colt's .45. Six bullets won't do you any good if you can't hit a barn door at more than 25 yards. He carried a single shot Dragoon pistol and when called out to a showdown, in which the combatants usually started about 100 yards apart and walked towards each other,usually drawing at about 25 yards, he would casualy pull his old Dragoon from his belt, line up the 13 inch barrel and shot them dead when they were 75 yards away.
