Need to get a broken car back from Ruapehu

Anyone out there in KBr land know the cheapest way to get a car back from Mt Ruapehu to Hamilton. Maybe a truck returning with a empty load? It is busted and cannot be towed, it will have to be trailered.
    Any ideas please let know.

Have you investigated the railway? Stations at Ohakune & National park.

    A possibility.

There's a bloke in Waiouru who runs a garage who transported me and my busted Celica from Ohakune to Palmerston North. He's on par with the rest of the car transport companies, but MUCH more flexible

    Waiouru Motors
    Main Rd Waiouru 0-6-387 6792

I think that's him, though it was a while ago.

My van broke down in Waiouru. It was cheaper to send the parts to Waiouru and get the local garage to fix it.

Well, technically the cheapest way is to push it.

Ring Car Haulaways, they often have empty trucks going north, more cars go south than north in that area usually.
