So are you saying that at the mo any cop in a car can chase who ever he likes? dont they have to have training and pass a test or something first? im not being a smart arse but i always thought to be on the force you needed to pass a driver training course?? i agree with you ( ) if they dont measure up they should be outa there...

Test? test? - we don't need no stinking tests, - just a large right boot and a lot of flashing lights.

And if it was the case that only certain drivers could undertake pusuits what difference is that really going to make to the guy contemplating a runner? - he sure as hell isn't going to know if the patrol vehicle he now has in his mirror is driven by 'Crash-Annie' or 'Tom Top-gun' is he?

This test thing, like all Govt. policies, will take a while to implement and will be full of "oops' we didn't think of that" bits.

Funny you should say that, met a Duke coming towards me one day at a 'reasonable' speed, he'd already passed the other two 'work' cars on the road on front of me at same speeds.

A couple of days later I recognised the same bike at Glenorchy, much mirth was had by all (except the said Dukes owner who had never met me before) when I mentioned how fast he was going near Crichton on his way to Milton a couple of days ago.
Should have seen his face when after saying to me "how the hell d'ya know about that, I've never met ya before" I replied "easy, I was driving the cop-car you saw coming towards you" - EVERYBODY pissed themselves while he stood there with his mouth open!!
Never got a rego but 'knew' it was the same bike parked outside the pub.
The dude did a runner again a few weeks later and then shot off to Aussie so hope he has the same luck there.

Coz if only the safe ones can chase you then you know the guy way way behind you is a good driver, and will not endanger the public

Death said it, choose your time and place to run carefully.
I have not stopped for cops twice. Once just before xmas on the Welly motorway. Bike cop on side of road, I was doing around 115-120km. By the time he got after me I was a fair way ahead, I could see lights behind me in the distance. So I sped up and got off at the next offramp and disappeared into suburbia. The other time was on the open road in my HSV, doing around 180km passing some doofess that was doing 90, and then would speed up to 130 on the passing lanes, cop comes round corner going otherway. I new i was fecked so just kept going until the next town and went down a sidestreet and read the paper for a bit.
FINE. This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

so what? do you honestly they care if you come quietly or perform like a seal? just makes it more fun for the cops. you sound like a perfect candidate for a pepper spray under the visor. just don't expect any sympathy when you try to claim that the cops beat you up, when the reality is that you picked a fight, and lost it. that's not an assault, it just means you're a loser

True! and he was looking at all his mates wondering why they were finding it all so funny before I told them who I was - THEY all knew!!

Asked one of them who owned the Duke, he told me, I told him the story and when he finished pissing himself he said "Let me introduce you to 'X'" and stood back with a big grin!!

your anti-stop and previous posting nature precludes me from picking up your 'taking the piss'. not that your address is hard to find - took me 2 minutes.
