Pepper spray? Jeez I'm glad I haven't been caught since pepper spray came into use!! Although a certain person involved in a pursuit figured a baton into my windscreen while my car was parked and I was handcuffed on the ground with a knee in the back of my head was going to help end the pursuit. Funnily enough his story didn't quite stack up with the witness reports of my fine upstanding parents and a family friend who is a barrister. Not that the guy from the Police Complaints Authority cared for their version - cos cops never lie! - until they produced the photographs. Thanks to the PCA for eventually sponsoring my nice new windscreen.

Unsure if getting a new windscreen was quite worth 18 months disq and 3 months PD... but oh, well... that was one case where I really shoulda known better.

Pepper spray?

I had a dumbarse in stolen 4X4 doing the runner down a dead end rural road. He eventually figured out he was on a road to nowhere and tried to do a U-turn. I blocked him in with my car and while he was doing about a 7 point turn to get out of the confined space he got the better part of a can of spray. He was staunch enough to carry on driving for about 2 minutes before dumping the vehicle and running through farmland. He managed to take a big fall somewhere as he ran through farm land, injured ribs, wrist and face. A dog handler found him about 10 minutes later feeling very sorry for himself. Back at the station it was "yes sir", "sorry sir", "can I please have some water sir".

I love pepper spray!!

Mate of mine had a similar incident, eff-wit red-neck does runner from Heriot pub, says "you ain't getting me pig" before heading off down country road.
Crashes through fence, tells my mate "bad luck, you won't get me now" and drives off into the darkness.
Ten seconds later and there's a 'bang-thump-crash-ow' and my mate hauls said driver from rolled Hi-lux at bottom of gully.

Result? 1 x E.B.A., 1 x Fails To Stop, 1 x No Insurance Pay-out on wrecked Hi-lux and $350 worth of fence fixing up.
Oh Yeah, those Heriot losers sure know how to show a cop how to drive and what the law is all about!!!

it was in the context of if you did a runner, it wouldn't be hard for the cops to find your address and be waiting for you there. i had been talking about it earlier in the thread.
