I can only say that a good pair of boots, despite the cost today, in the long run will be a good decision. My Sidis are 15 years old, admittedly I haven't done a lot of riding, but they are still waterproof and strong. Every now and then I give them a new coat of Snowseal wax which does the job nicely. Same for my leather jacket which is the same age.

Prior to that I wore army boots which were excellent but a real fag having to do the laces up all the time.

Nothin wrong with Alpinestars dude... and Im still aiming for the front bum so cant be all that gay
