Agreed re the leather comments, but that's not strictly correct re Cordura. If it's the proper denier Cordura for the intended use its highly abrasion resistant - unfortunately a lot of the low-mid end priced Cordura gear is either not Cordura but a copycat material with a similar look or is too light a denier for its intended use, but that comes back to the get what you pay for scenario....
Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares? ...He's a mile away and you've got his shoes
Red baron Gave credit note for the full purchase purchase value of the jacket and notified us that we could have original back for 50 bucks if we wanted it payable to the importer in Albany cos they sell these off for 50 bucks at their warehouse. Big thumbs up to Tony at Red Baron

I've had two splits, one in the bum of a set of spools, where I wore through the stiching, and the other in another brand earlier on in my career. Funnily enough, I have done exactly what Flathead described, crashing off a pushie actually, wearing Cordura/Nylon, and tore the material through with the thread. it seemed to me that when I hit the ground the material gripped (wasn't fast enough to slide) and the thread being stronger than the material caused it to rip.
I agree with you, Cordura is great for its weather protecting properties, but it isn't up to much impact wise...both for wearing through and splitting...I don't know how many non-leather jackets I would trust to hold together in crashes on NZ's coarse chip.
