Look out for signs that the line-marking will be going ahead - should happen soon I'm hoping but bikes will need to be cleared out overnight for this. No bikes should be parked overnight in any case.

Hi all, the marking has taken place in the WO Wilson carpark and motorbike parking areas are clearly indicated on several floors.

Ensure you let other riders know, and to all park appropriately - don't box each other in.

Do not park in ANY area which is not clearly marked for motorbikes or you may be removed. If the facility is full you need to find alternative parking elsewhere.

The car/bike park on St Pauls St is gone, you might as well remove this sticky.

For these AUT faculty & students that still park on St Pauls, ensure that you do not park outside of the motorbike park as you *will* get a parking ticket.

It might have helped if you had read any of the above posts. Yes WL St Pauls has been demolished but WO Wakefield has even more places marked for motorbike parking. As in WL you will need to read and follow the regulations for sensible parking or lose the right to park there.

Mods pls do not remove this sticky.

WY park out of service util lift replaced

As WY users can see from the posted signs the motorbike park has been closed until the lift refurbishment project has been completed. Until then there is no motorbike parking in WY, and you will have to use WO (parking on several floors) until further notice. We do not know when the landlord will suddenly put the equipment in that space. It is my main concern to ensure compliance – which means motorbikes not using unauthorised spaces or bicycle parking – so that we get the space back once the project has been completed. It was difficult getting this space established and I would ask everyone using WY to comply until we get the space back. I am trying to see whether we could have the space back until the project is definitely in motion. Check the Kiwibiker thread or the Coordinator page for updates. Non-compliant bikes may be removed.

Update for WY staff - we now have a temporary space in WY next to the reduced bicycle rack. Entrey is by the cone lane. This is a smaller space so if it is full please use WO. Be careful not to obstruct the cycles or cars.

WO warning - WO is a facility for staff and students to park for work/classes. Overnight or long term parking is not allowed, and users abusing this will be removed at their own cost and risk.

WTF is happening there? With strong ties to both AUT and the parking industry there this sounds horrible. It sounds like its all burning since I left.

AUT and motorbikes was a thing. Especially the WS/WE (sorry can't remember exactly what it was - engineering building) were you could park on the spare spaces.

Not sure what you mean AVGAS. I ran the St Paul St AUT WL motorbike parking you are referring to. This was an AUT space in a carpark which AUT owned operated by Wilson for us. The rules were no long-term parking - ie. people using the carpark as their personal bike storage.

WL was demonslished, and we opened motorbike parking in the WO carpark on Wakefield - owned by AUT operated by Wilson with the same rules.

We offer the largest private FREE motorbike parking facility you might be able to find anywhere in the SH. What's horrible about that?

    Bikes stolen from WO

Hi all, please be aware that there may have been some bike thefts from car park. Be alert to report to security anyone supsicious around the bikes. I recommend you consider securing your bikes - shackle locks and other devices are good deterents. Bike in public spaces are vulnerable, and parking is at your own risk.

In other words ... the security isn't that great. Or is it on a part time basis .. ???

Its a standard Wilson multistory carpark operated by them. The free spaces allocated for motorbike parking are park at your own risk.

In a car park there will usually be designated motorbike parking bays and quite often they're free. As riders account for just three per cent of vehicles on the road, parking spaces in car parks are obviously weighted towards cars, which can mean you might find motorcycle parking bays full. shareit vidmate
