Tauranga : Irate driver hauls boy racer out car window

    http://www.nzherald.co.nz/section/1/...527153&ref=rss

He followed the cars, forcing one off the road, and then dragged the teenage driver out through the window as he tried to put the car into gear to flee. "I would not hesitate to do it again," Mr Anderson said. "My neighbours have kids who walk down there. My own kids play down there on their bikes. We've just had a gutsful really."

We live in a rural area and have to put up with the same type of teenage delinquent drivers driving like idiots and leaving their litter and diesol on the roads.

Top marks to Mike Anderson's actions

good on him, a shame he's losing his licence for speeding though, I bet it'll tarnish his actions. Assault, phfff, little bastards deserved it, he only dragged him out of the window, but alas the soft little cherub will probably get his way and MR Anderson will un-doubtedly have the book thrown at him, and the boy-racers will get off scot-free.

A mate of mine who owns a modified s14 silvia, and a twin turbo gto race car ( targa ) live out red hills road ways, asks his neighbors if they would mind if he went down the end of the st ( dead end leading to a paddock ) if he can go down there and do these kinda of things, they have no problem with it and are thankfull he asks them, in return he checks there gates are locked ect ect. also has done some work on there cars for them.

there not happy when other idiots go down there but the know when he will be as he always asks and it not on a regular basis or late at night.

So some neighbors can be pretty good if you go the right way about it and dont do it where kids ect will be playing.

Good on him, citizens arrest is where it's at in situations like that.

    It wasn't an arrest.

I hope he gets done for assault and jailed. Stupid vigilante justice and stupid to think that any form of vigilante behaviour is acceptable in a civilised society.

Iraq is needing to replace a few hundred thousand people and they like that vigilante stuff there, so you know what to do about it.

I can imagine the local police station's response...
Caller: "Some kids are doing burnouts in our street"
PC Plod: "OK, we'll see if a car can be sent around - might be a few hours away though"
Caller: "Thanks anyway. Don't want to interrupt the 1/2 price donut hour. Whenever you can get here..."

Vigilante justice. Available whenever the Plod can't get there soon enough.

That's the best thing I have heard about boy racers. Good on him.

Its all about respect. If you respect others, they will respect you (usually!).

I say good on him. If boyracers cant find somewhere to do burnouts and shit without wrecking private property then they deserve a swift kick up the arse.

no disrespect intended, but if we HAD a truly 'civilized' society, where civilians where protected by law and people threatening them were made to desist by the authorities, then this sort of action wouldn't be necessary

i agree with you this wasn't an arrest - and he'll probably get done for it because that's the law - and that's what must happen

    - but it's a little harsh, i think, to damn someone for acting when pushed to the edge of his limits in what he percieves to be a real threat to his family and neighbours when previous calls to the police have not stopped the behaviour concerned?

    I'm not saying i condone vigilante behaviour - or violence - because i don't ..

... but it would be wrong of me to say that i would never take personal action if me or mine were faced with a threat the Authorities couldn't or wouldn't remove....

    - and i don't think that's unreasonable of me?

    .
Yes this individual went too far in this case.

However I do think that some forms of "vigilante justice" are appropriate. The difficulty is not overstepping.

yep she is a fine line between fixing the problem or making the solution into another problem.
I mean its a very fine line when you think that he went to all this effort to rip someone out of a car he did not like.........what would he do if he was pissed off at a biker?
