Plug on rev gauge

Hey all,

I'm currently rebuilding an NQ50 (remember those Nifty Fifty's? )

I want to set the idle & mix screws on the carb, but my rev gauge has gone walkabouts, and the only other one I can find is a 4, 6 or 8 cylinder jobbie... Anyone know where I can get a 1 & 2 cylinder rev gauge from?? Or any other cheeky tricks??

They were a 2 stroke weren't they? I'm not sure what you're asking really, because the number of cylinders only applies when you're connecting to the coil LT side negative terminal, in which case just divide the reading for the 4 cylinder setting by 2... (2 stroke fires twice as often per revolution of the crank but your fiddy only has 1/4 the number of the cylinders).

Just bear in mind even 4-stroke bikes fire on every stroke like a 2-stroke because the ignition system designs don't incorporate a cam angle sensor or distributor which is needed to determine whether the engine is on compression/power TDC or exhaust/intake TDC (at least none I've come across although perhaps the really modern stuff does).
