The views expressed above may not match yours - But that's the reason my Dad went to war - wasn't it?
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, .... but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out,... shouting "man, what a ride"!!!
Good to catch up with BB and everyone else. A great night we should do things like this more often.![]()
Yep good night all round. Good to meet you BB. Stay safe and next time I'm up in Ackerland that midnight run on the motorway might be the way to go.

What an awesome weekend! I really was expecting atrocious weather so it never occurred to me to bring riding gear! But the Tuono was offered and Saturday was a primo day so I wasn't gonna say no! We had a neat little blat and I felt really good on the Aprilia...which comes into its own in the twisties, jeez it feels like a trail bike! Then on the way back D said 'hey do ya wanna swap and ride the Guzzi?' I was already buzzing so I didn't even hesitate. Yeeeeeeeeeee ha! It rocks to be me! Rode along with a huge smile on my face. Gotta say the Guzzi is a heavy bike and definately doesn't drop into a corner like the Buell, but it didn't take me long to find that it responded well to a heavy hand on the throttle LOL! Definately different, I liked it.
Dinner and drinkies was very enjoyable, some familiar faces and some new ones. Must admit that I got stuck into the vino , was on such a high from the days riding that I decided 'damn the consequences...'
Amazingly I felt ok on Sunday morning, I say amazingly cos there was more alcohol consumed at G & Ds when we got home... G and I were up bright and early to go to Riccarton markets and as we were pulling out of the driveway I said to her "ya know what? I think I must still be pissed cos I should be hungover and I'm not...which means its gonna hit later".
Markets were cool, spent $$.
Then it was back to the sofa and fireplace to hang over til it was time to catch my flight. By the time I was on the plane the incredibly short hangover had passed and soon I was back in Auckland being greeted by my ecstatic hounds! Always nice to come home to that.
Thanks to G & D for putting up with me.
Glen and Mary-Lou, thanks so much for the bike and bike gear! So very generous of you and I loved the bike. BTW I think I left my sunnies in your garage???
Skyrider... midnight run, yeah man!
And the rest of ya... might see ya at the Nelson rally...![]()
