    Is Phil Collins stupid, generous or just too rich for his own good?

    I found this story today amusing. Maybe Phil is so desperate to be top of any pop charts, that he's prepared to give most of his money away to better Paul Mccartney's divorce settlement. A case of Follow you, follow me maybe. He must feel like he's a victim of robbery, assault and battery all in one.

    http://www.stuff.co.nz/4660127a1860.html

    In short. He held the record for Britain's biggest divorce settlement from wife No. 2 in 1994 at 17m Pounds. Then Macca topped that this year at 24.3m pds. So Phil up'd the ante today with 25m pds ($68m) to Wife No 3. For 6 years she did OK didn't she. How many Woman could he have 'hired' over 6 years for $68m !!!

    Now Phil can claim to hold both number one and number three spots for the UKs most expensive divorces.

    Phil please get a better Lawyer/Advisor. Someone familiar with the word pre-nuptial.

    I am a BIG Genesis fan from the start, and although I blame Phil for taking them down pop-cola-bubble gum lane in the 80s, I admire his moments of great talent. He's an amazing drummer, song writer, singer and all round artist.

    But throwing a third of his wealth away so carelessly on two Sheilas begs the question; is he just a slow learner; a soft touch; or too rich for his own good?

    You could write pages about this story just by using Genesis song titles like;
    Throwing it all away
    Am I very wrong
    Taking it all too hard
    There must be some other way
    Alone tonight
    Robbery, assault and battery
    More fool me [now that's funny]
    After the ordeal

    Or Phil's own titles;
    I don't care anymore
    It don't matter to me
    Doesn't anybody stay together anymore [Hah, not for less than $70m Phil]
    We said hello, goodbye [these are starting to crack me up]
    Oughta know by now [you said it Phil]
    Take me down [she did]
    That's all [Nope, wife No 4 will see to that]
    If leaving me is easy [you make it so easy Phil]

    Good luck with marriage No 4 Phil. The Gorilla might be a safe bet.

    Totally love Phil Collins and his work. Have seen his song used on some advert on youtube with a gorilla playing the drums. Totally love that clip Just a shame it didn't do the full song.

    Maybe his talent waned as he lost his hair. Just like Samson and Delilah.

    Best he keep away from any wannabe wife called Delilah.

    He must be looking for inspiration.

    Pretty sure he attributed his best song writing to going through divorces.

    Must be habit forming.

    Hey! Don't bring my dog Delilah into it. lol.

    Been a BIG fan of Genesis for years. Saw them a number of times. Phil always seems to come out with some of his best work after personal tragedy. Bit Like Eric Clapton.
    I'm only wearing black until they develop something darker

    sources suggest collins' net worth is $280mil. paying out less than 1/3 of that only leaves him with $210-ish. if he did nothing but put that in the bank at a measly 8%, he'll still clear about $10mil a year. i'm sure he'll get by just fine.
