AA's latest ad

I saw an Ad on TV for the AA where some person hit a cliff or something and a bunch of people came out and fixed her up and she went on her merry way.

except. what the f$%@, I needed a tow after something similar recently and I called the AA (for which I am a platinum member) and they said explicitly "we do not pay for a tow if you have had crash"

isn't this a BIT of false advertising!

they advised to call ins. co. I did but were closed and couldn't help so double shame there, I re-called AA and they said the best they could do was offer a number for a tow company which I would have to pay for myself

I guess the morale of the story is. don't crash on the weekend


EDIT: I'm an iddy for ranting before I saw the ad twice. its apparently for AA Insurance, NOT AA road service.

If they fixed the cage on the side of the road, then no tow truck was required.
Not that that is ever going to happen though... (new panels, bodywork, etc)

from my point of view, they are advertising "if you have a crash, AA will sort you out. "

Hmm I was angry when I saw the ad I didn't look at whether it was for the insurance co or the road service...... I assumed it was for the road service due to the nature of the ad (them coming out and sorting her out). I'ts not something you would find on youtube so ill have a look on TV.

It's an ad for AA insurance, not AA Roadservice.

Still misleading though if you expect your insurance repair to be done on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere right then and there .... mind you I don't believe that toddler drove that car then surfed that wave, or maybe he did

I believe intentional over-exaggeration is allowed in advertising if a regular person wouldn't expect what they are seeing to actually occur. Sorta like the Barry Crump Hilux falling from 100s of feet and driving off in one piece.

Still, it's good to have a vent about crappy AA Roadside Service!

Should have just told them it had brokenn down and would no longer run could you please send a tow truck.
Same thing if you do have a crash (minor ) dont tell the tow truck Co its a crash as the charge more just say the car has broken down and needs a tow its undriveable wont start.
