Who put up da Pink and Blue signifyers ?

And what if you are neither ?
    Or both?
    Or between operations?
Or not pink or blue but
GREEN like my friend Kermit Kawasaki ?
    And what does it mean?
    Pink and blue make PURPLE?

Everything is always okay in the end.

Something seems not quite right... The thingy with the arrow should be blue, surely? And I should have one, and not the other kind. At least, that's what I've always believed. Now I'm getting confused again. Is there nothing we can be sure of any more?

oops, I was lead astray by this site. If anyone wants something other than M/F, I'd be more than happy to add the appropriate symbol.

    Good Call, BluNinja ....

Jollies. quite cheered me up.... !

But, joking aside, I'd like to raise a serious question, if
this thread can bear such a thing....

Why show the biology symbols for male/female?
I cannot find much value in having them there.

The whole beauty of a website like this is to air IDEAS
and knowledge, exchange views, humour, etc.
Dosen't matter whether the idea originates out of male or
female, it's what is said that is the point.

The world is such a relentlessly gendered place that
a site like this is one place where you can be free from
stereotyping - for a little while. I hoped this biker's site
would not be 'typical' like the rest of society.

It's kinda disappointing that, yet again, what you are is more important than what you think.

Hhmmm - now I'm all depressed. But I would prefer the
    bio symbols to be removed.

    Anyone agree ? Disagree ?

Your'e not a closet HD rider, are you????????

I agree with bestfun - it doesn't matter what sex you are (or aren't); this is all about ideas and experiences. BTW Bestfun, the best cure for depression is a good ride...

What? I think a closet (or Te Papa Museum) is the best place to keep a HD.

As for stereotyping; girls and boys ARE different, they look different, they think different, they talk different. An idea will stand on it's own merits regardless of the gender of the proposer. Bestfun, do you believe that people will ignore your posts, or treat them differently just because you have a female symbol alongside your name? If you do, that doesn't feel to me like you think much of the people that post on here.

Before you jump up and down on me too hard; I do know that your gender will influence the way people respond to you initially....and if people don't believe me go into a chat room with a name that marks you as the opposite gender and see how people respond....it's quite fun! Provided these symbols are treated as a bit of fun, I don't see a problem with them. Perhaps KK and Cuban are sponsoring them to find girlies with bikes.

BTW  how come people wanted pics of Mitch in a bikini, when they'd not seen her, but nobody asked me (sniff)

Referring to BluNinja's post containing the question:

do you believe that people will ignore your posts, or treat them differently just because you have a female symbol alongside your name?

    In short, yes.

How come? I hear you ask...

Because it is something I notice frequently.

I'll give you some examples from this very own site if you
    need convincing, via a PM.

Hey, I have a sense of humour, and all the rough edges knocked
off years ago, and it's OK. I'm cool. Girls just wanna have fun.

I simply dislike the bio symbols intensely, and would prefer them not to be there. (even the neon colours grate).
They were installed by unilateral decision without consultation. They remain inaccurate, stereotypical and, just perhaps, be wrong for someone. Who won't say anything....at all.

I reckon a little ambiguity is spicy, and it keeps
our authors on their toes. No assumptions, huh.

    I could've registered as "Throttler-Bottler" on a big black
    Triumph and perhaps I should've.

    Chuckle, oh dear.

    Other than Si

    Well how about you then?

That would be a change from Spankmes girlie pix!

Nah, on second thoughts lets just stay with Mitch

    I agree with BestFun.

The symbols should at least have a "none" option in the user cp profile.(well all sorts of options would be nice, but that would be a start)

How about it SpankMe ? :bigthumb:
