Some of the Ohlins Road and Track forks would be nice. Might be a bit much for an aging VFR though.

You could get him to do a full rebuild on them (Racetech emulators, seals, bushes and springs) for very reasonable money

You do have to be very careful with the type of seal. Many seals are only designed to work in ''rotation'', not fore and aft as in a fork seal.

Cheap seals with rather less compliant material that will create a lot more friction will indeed be around $15 or so each....................

I have just fitted yamaha fork seals into my DR400s, it may be worth visiting your yamaha dealer an enquiring about what they can supply, an alternative is measure ID and OD also thickness of the original seals and contact this company, Seal Imports Ltd, Ph 04 566 6754 Fax 04 566 6753 Udy St Petone.
A tip I picked up on another site regarding fork seals, is to get some Rubber Grease, ( not normal bearing grease.) apply this liberally to the inside lip of the seal, this will help with putting the shocks back together and also increase the life of the seal.

No need to see a yamaha dealer etc...

I have given you the Honda part number, which can be used at ANY honda dealer.
All the work is done. All you need to do now is order them
