I grew up with Connery being 007 and automatically prefered him. Moore, No! Dalton and Brosnan, good.

Er, Casino Royale was the first Bond book (almost a short story). The film was a spoof (come on, it had Ronnie Corbett in it). The original story defines Bond - sexist, misogynist, alcoholic, psychotic. It also had the original cocktail, none of that "shaken, not stirred" crap. If they made a film that was true to the book it would be a bit different from the film Bond.

I like Brosnan because when he made "The Tailor of Panama" he basically played Bond without the charm. It shows what a total shit he really is, but because he's so smooth he gets away with it.
Remember to never split an infinitive. The passive voice should never be used. Do not put statements in the negative form. Proofread carefully to see if you words out. And don't start a sentence with a conjugation. (William Safire)

Connery.... From Russia with Love. The fight in the train with Robert Shaw was fantastic.

Connery is a man's man, although my wife has made some uncharateristically colourful statements with respect to how she'd like to spend an afternoon with him and what they might get up to, even at his advanced age

Connery, it has to be Connery! That voice would make me vote for him even if I were blind! Roger Moore was a bit too Hollywood, Brosnan grew on me after a while, he was slick enough. Not sure who should be the next Bond, none of the current crop of leading men are right for the part!
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!
