Ebay sued after motorcycle failed to arrive

A US customer of Ebay is suing the internet auction site after a bike he said he bought from a man in Milan failed to arrive. Al Whidden has also sued SquareTrade, a group that provides protection to Ebay buyers.

Mr. Whidden said he agreed to pay James Trotuar of Milan $4,500 for the 2002 Honda GL 1800 Goldwing. He said he sent a money order for $4,500 to Italy, but he never got the motorcycle in return.

I don't think he will be getting any money from eBay. A Honda Goldwing for $4,500 from a seller in another country, that sounds like a scam from the start.

I poked at those scams. I've seen them and would never go for anything like that. I saw an '02 R1 bling-blinged to the max, and they wanted NZ$5000 for it.. tui..
I emailed them to find out how the hell they ever think anything like that works.. A load of crap, you're a dumbass to even think it's a good idea. He's obviously too stupid for money, so he's probably better off without it..
Those guys are on TradeMe all the time, that's where I saw that R1 and a few others.
If it's too good to be true, then it probably is..

I bought a Honda CRM250 from a bike dealer in Yorkshire via Ebay.I e-mailed him before bidding and checked that the price quoted for the courier was nationwide as it seemed cheap and I`m a few hundred miles away.He said it was and I picked up a good bike for a good price......or thought I had.Bloke pissed me about for a few weeks and I contacted the credit card company telling them he`d failed to deliver.They leaned on him and I`m getting my money back and compensation.We have a thing called "joint liability" here,basically if you buy something on your card that dosnt come up to scratch then the card company is as liable as the seller on the grounds that in Brit law if you pay someone money for something they are liable for it,same goes for anything bought on hire-purchase.
