^^^ She should become a parking warden with mad skillz like those...

In my experience, the further devolved the power, the more c*nty the exercise of that power. See the sheer lovliness of parking wardens for the best example.

WTF!. That's just ridiculous. If anyone did that to me, I would tell them to "F" off since I'm paying to use the damn facility. How the fuck does it matter whether I use the screen or not and possibly the dude could have just been using the screen and reading his books. Talk about tyrannical behaviour. I should carry a baseball bat around with me and whack retards like these when they approach me.

"security" is not allowed to "handle" you. Thats an assault. They can "ask" you to leave, but while its a public place and they have no authority to force you to do anything. Not even the police can remove you from a public place while you are not under arrest. Its the law. Tell "security" to call the police, OR ELSE YOU WILL. Take their photo, or video them with your camera or cellphone. Its perfectly legal to take someones photo, permission or not.

If THEY call the police, politely and quietly decline to discuss it with the police. Tell them you are legally entitled to be here, you know your rights, and you will now quietly and legally continue about your business, and then turn and do so.

A public citizen in a public place has rights. If the door is open for the purpose of the public to enter, then it is a public place. Stand up for your rights, but MAKE SURE YOU ARE RIGHT.

Be EXCEEDINGLY CAREFUL not to give them legal grounds. Be calm. Be quiet. Keep a witness with you, make sure they understand they should not leave. Calmly and quietly continue about your business. Make sure it is THEY who creates a disturbance, not you. Make certain your witness understands to decline to comment to the police.

Not nice, but sooner or later you have to stand up for yourself.

fuck yeah. I have had my time on the receiving end, and now I get real stupid real quick when I have just cause and there are no witnesses. Take care using such a weapon tho, you might kill someone... quite distasteful, and almost certainly not what you want. "The learn" is one thing, dead people is a whole new ballgame, heh scuse the pun.

Mostly you can get even when the persons supervisor, as you can make a complaint with them after the incident, and make the perpetrator look a proper fool.

Yeah agree about it being a different ball game though gotta fight fire with fire especially if they are complete fuckwits and they seem to want to have a power trip. Again I'll make sure that I'm in the right before going ballistic...like the bit about making the perpetrator the fool...always works for me...

Stop being a wooss and say "NO". Remember not to flinch and then ignore her completely.

Some dickhead at the pools tried this with me last week.. ranted and screamed and I told him "NO" and he screamed to me to "GET OUT OR I'LL CALL THE COPS" so I shrugged and told him to go do that, and I ran back up the hydroslide steps. Five minutes later I had the pool manager apologising to me profusely. Hrm she was pretty too..

Stand up to people. Tell them "NO". There isn't a fucking thing they can do about it.

BTW, make sure you are right though.

    DB
Yeah, and don't forget to look really dangerous when your doing it.
Or failing that you could always take it international.

A place opened to the public for their general or specific-purpose use is a public place. Unless you have been told otherwise by a sign, or in writing, or on privately owned property with a trespass order, then you are entitled to be there provided you are not breaking the law, or can be easily construed as breaking the law.

If you are walking down a public street, NO PERSON can tell you you should not be there, not even the police. They can ASK you to go elsewhere, but they cannot force you to, unless you are obstructing them in the course of their work, or disobeying some road law or other law, then they can fine or arrest you for it, but they cannot remove you unless you are under arrest, and mostly the feds dont want the paperwork and the comeback unless they KNOW it will stand up in a court of law, so they will hesitate at arresting you and just tell you "look mate, piss off!", and which point you tell them "no" again, lol.

It doesnt matter greatly anyways what is legal or not, just tell them what YOU want to happen and usually you can bluff it past them. Its all just a game.

Once again, you're full of horseshit.
Uni campus is Private property, if they ask you to leave, and you refuse, they have the right to escort you off the premises using reasonable force if necessary.

    Go back to your bush-lawyering.

Its true, the uni owns the campus.

Don't believe me? Check your university ID, it is what entitles you to be on the premises. At any time they can ask you for your ID, and should you fail to provide it to them, they can escort you off campus, forceably if you refuse
