    Major Life Crossroad

Isn't it amazing how easily some major life decisions can be?

After just over a year of seeing The Man and living 1.5hrs ride apart, and various discussions about him moving over here & getting a new job, it turns out that I'm moving over there.

After a particularly horrible day at work yesterday, and with a "Self Assessment" section of my yearly "Performance Review" to fill out, I filled it out!

    Goals for Lisa's future:
    1. No more shiftwork
    2. No more weekend work
    3. Move to Te Puke and get a life - preferably a stress-free one!!!

Which I put on my managers desk yesterday for his entertainment on his return to work this morning. :sly:

Despite the fact that The Man and I are on about the same hourly rate, I make much more money due to shift allowances/compensations and a yearly bonus. Which is why he was going to move over here. But after 8 years, I'm finally and thoroughly sick of the shiftwork and the tensions it places on my life. And my life is what it's all about, right?

So the money's not what it's all about now. That new Triumph might not be part of my future this year (drat! ) but my living expenses will be greatly reduced by moving in with The Man, so a huge salary is not such a big priority for me now.

What a relief! Now I just have to tell Mum that I'm moving out of town again (she'll be happy for me, I'm sure). And I won't be starting looking for a job in The Bay until I get back from my March holiday, so it's no stress until then.

So here's to making the right decision for you & following it through. Have a beverage on me to celebrate.

    Another new life changer!

Hey Lisa - well done!... Glad to see that you and The Man are cool, and that you have got some good goals ahead of you. After 8months of bitching about my job, I did almost exactly what you did... Great isn't it! I start my new job on the 14th Feb, with a little more money in the pocket, and a little more free time to do what I want.... Coolness!

Have a frosty beverage for me too!

    Congratulations....
You say that money is not what its about now.... although it can make life a little easier, happiness never comes from money. If everything else fits and your quality of life will improve over all and you are happy together, I say absolutely great... good for you. I wish you all the very best!!!

They are really - yet we often agonise for ages before making them and then wonder why it was so hard. Good on you. Best wishes.

Oi! That was a "might" on the "no new bike" thing, so don't think this doesn't mean you shouldn't still be checking things out with the *@#&$* Truimph importer for me.

Good on you. Life is for living, taking charge is a big step. Well done!!
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

The Duc is sitting in my garage at the moment. Might have to go out for a ride on it tomorrow morning before work.
