Isn't it amazing how easily some major life decisions can be?
After just over a year of seeing The Man and living 1.5hrs ride apart, and various discussions about him moving over here & getting a new job, it turns out that I'm moving over there.
After a particularly horrible day at work yesterday, and with a "Self Assessment" section of my yearly "Performance Review" to fill out, I filled it out!
Goals for Lisa's future:
- No more shiftwork
- No more weekend work
- Move to Te Puke and get a life - preferably a stress-free one!!!
Which I put on my managers desk yesterday for his entertainment on his return to work this morning. :sly:
Despite the fact that The Man and I are on about the same hourly rate, I make much more money due to shift allowances/compensations and a yearly bonus. Which is why he was going to move over here. But after 8 years, I'm finally and thoroughly sick of the shiftwork and the tensions it places on my life. And my life is what it's all about, right?
So the money's not what it's all about now. That new Triumph might not be part of my future this year (drat!) but my living expenses will be greatly reduced by moving in with The Man, so a huge salary is not such a big priority for me now.
What a relief! Now I just have to tell Mum that I'm moving out of town again (she'll be happy for me, I'm sure). And I won't be starting looking for a job in The Bay until I get back from my March holiday, so it's no stress until then.
So here's to making the right decision for you & following it through. Have a beverage on me to celebrate.![]()
