Good on ya Slim :spudbooge - sometimes the when you weight it all up and take a step back you realise that some sacrifices are worth it for your own long term sanity!

When it feels right than there's a good chance you've made the right decision.

Our very best wishes. We hope it works out really well for you both!

I'm not sure what's going to happen, NinjaBoy. Moving is at least 3 months away, so if you spot a bargain, you'd better just grab it, eh?

Celtic - it's absolutely not a sacrifice at all. It's an opportunity that I'm grabbing.

Avgas - never worked for Westpac, m8. Telecom/Alcatel for the last 9.5 years.

Hitcher - this isn't the first time I've made a big move for lifestyle/family reasons. And last time everything fell into place so easily and it was obviously meant to be.

Thanks for the well wishes & warm thoughts peeps. I just had to share such a great moment.

    Good on you!

You've done the hard part, so it's all good A little while back I was really unhappy at work, and needed to leave for my sanity. I stuck it out (wages were too good to leave) and it turns out things are getting better (for the moment, at my work things can change at the drop of a hat). So I'm glad I stayed. BUT, I've only been there for just over 2 years, so after 9.5 years I think you're pretty safe in making your decision. And of course, you are moving to a partner
