    National Gubbinment, PLEASE sell Kiwibank!

After having the utmost pleasure of standing in a queue that Communist Russia would be proud of, I have just succeded in posting off a parcel.

Big fu**ing deal? Well it wouldn't have been if all the great unwashed had a proper bank to go into to pay their electricity bill, tell-lie-con bill and withdraw loot$$.

National. Sell the bastard off and let us have back a post office that... ooh, I dunno, "post's stuff"!!

Small post office? Bigger ones seem to have lines for kiwibank custombers and lines for the post office.

I don't understand why anyone needs to go into a bank branch anymore, unless it's to cash a cheque (I mean actually cash one).

We do everything on-line or via ATM. Honestly people, get with the times.

In Melbourne the expats prefer to use the terms Helengrad or Clarkistan.

I think you are getting mixed up with NZ Post. Kiwbank don't handle parcels.

Imagine the future - you could get your WOF at the P.O. too

Most definately not. There are two service counters yet both handle postal items (myself on the verge of) and Kiwiwank's customers and their inordinate supply of bills.

Why are you blaming NZ Post/ Kiwibank because the utilities (Telecom, power co's, etc) no longer accept your payments at their own office? Or have an office in every small town and suburb? You should be f*cking thankful NZ Post/KB IS making the effort, or you'd be travelling across town or worse to pay the bill before the bastids cut off your power, phone, gas, etc.

National and it's supporters cannot stomach the fact that there is an alternative to foreign ownership of banks. Funny that a former National PM is now the chairman of kiwibank
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.

Do you get a warranty with the lefty bullshit that you just bought? Would you care to address that question to the Southland Building Society, for example?

Governments are for doing stuff like defence (remember when we used to do that?) and the economy. Not banks and train sets, what's next? A government owned supermarket?

I have no problem with payments and find interdweeb banking to be far more efficient. Those still living in the dark ages seem to go to Kiwiwank to queue up and pay their bills there. Seperate the two entities so those of us wanting a bloody stamp are not inconvenienced by the "el-cheapo" "shoehorn a bank in with that post-office" crowd.

Yeah we got cheap power like Max Bradford promised, and Telecom gives us a fantastic world class internet network, and AirNZ did so well investing in Ansett etc etc.....

The sale of core tax payer owned infrastructure and business assets to me seemed to be the con of the century because the greedies don't invest enough in development because it comes off the annual bottom line and they want instant returns.
    Cheers
