PS3 vs XBOX360

So, I've just bought a humongous TV (42" LCD 1080p), and have been toying with the idea of finally updating my gaming system.

But i'm unsure what will be better in the long run.
PS3 plays Blu-ray movies and has an 80Gb HDD
XBOX has the bigger selection of games.

Either way I go, the first thing I will be doing is buying GTA4.

Any comments?

is what I got when I got my new TV heaps better than the PS3
if you get the xbox make sure its got at least the 20 gig hard drive

just my opinion tho......

GTA4 and Gears of war are a must

Well I'm on my third 360 as they keep blowing up. plus Microsoft seems to think they can run roughshod over NZ legislation. If I had to choose again I'd definately go for the PS3

Go with the 360, I used to have one till the motherboard physically melted..

Much better console, more fun with mates, and I can just give you all my 360 games.. GTA4 included

Till I get off my arse and buy a new one that is.

I got both and am leaning towards the ps3 in terms of ease to use and free online gaming. Membership subscriptions for xbox live really tear my undies.
Both look great on the big tv and theres hardly any difference in graphics or frame rate. 80gb HDD is brilliant for "borrowed" movies on ps3. Theres quite a price difference though.....

360 is a piece of shit. My hard drive has failed after 14 months (just after warranty expired) and I personally know of others who have had the "red ring" of death. Those that own one know what I mean.

When it goes it is sweet and there are some awesome games (GOW), but my PS2 is still going strong after many years of use so when I come to upgrade it will be back to Sony for me.

Long term the PS3 will be the better way to go - you can at least watch HD movies on blu-ray.

The Xbox has more games at the moment, but its loud, and you cannot watch hi-def movies on it (the HDDVD player is now good for nothing).

so - PS3 all the way - and I wish I got the PS3 when I setup my theatre room - now I have to save up for one of them as well ;-)

Shit....when I was a kid there was no Playstation...for fun I would play with my mates....or if no one was about I would go upstairs to my room and play with myself!!!

Buy more shit for your bike, or buy a better bike, then you will never think about PS3s etc ever again!
