Bummer, my 12 week girl is 9.5kg and my boy is 50kg, yep any large breed which growns too fast will get problems, you should feed them large puppy breed biscuits to slow the growth and make sure they have enough calcium and phosphorus.

I was at the VSG (Veterinary Specialist Group) clinic a while back and this woman was in the waiting area with her 11mth old male Rotti. He was 55kg and the size of a small horse.
Apparently she had his brother as well!
Problem is that this 'pup' had grown so abnormally fast that his bones couldn't keep up with the rest of him and his shoulders were shattered...MAJOR surgery.
His brother had normal growth so go figure...

She does have a cute little pink tum tum so far she has managed to get all my laces out of 2 pairs of work boots, 1 pair of sneakers and 1 pair of my good shoes, I think she is a boots and laces girl

Ya know that thing that people do to their babies where they blow against their tummies???

I still do that to both my dogs and they are now fully grown! They love it, makes them go all silly LOL.

Hey Rottiguy, that pup that has grown abnormally? The owner also has his brother and he is growing at the normal rate. She is doing everything right, unfortunately this one pup is just a freak! Tests have been done and they are none the wiser as to whats causing it yet...

    yeah the old tummy blow
the fast growing pup is a bit odd, maybe if one of the grandparents were real big it could explain it but they usually don't get any bigger than their parents.
Might be a large production of growth hormone or something, if they tested for blood levels of it, they could give a blocker to slow growth by inhibiting it's production or uptake which would most likely help

VSG, where he was having surgery, is where Vets train. If they can't figure it out then no-one can. The specialists there are amazing.

VSG (Veterinary Specialist Group) is AT Massey, sorry I should have been clearer. Its a stand-alone clinic where the trainees get a chance to work/train with the countries top surgeons/specialists.

Oh, yeah well they should be somewhat onto it, seems odd they can't slow down the growth though, oh well one more mystery in life aye just have to restrict feed the doggie then and hope for the best, maybe give joint support and stuff to help but sounds like a weird one
