I fought the lard and the lard won

So me and my mate had just gone up at Info Commons Level 3 last night 2 study. Had jumped on our computers for about 5 mins when the "above-average" sized ic lady comes up and makes a grand announcement that there had been many complaints that people in our area had been talking and that we had to leave. I mean WTF right!!! So i explained to her that it couldnt possibly be us as we had only just gotten there to her reply of "I dont care".

so we go outside and she came out a couple of mins after and looked at her and said "nice power trip". At this point she went off her nut at me. and we exchanged some words Cries of "YOU THINK IM POWERTRIPPING?!?!? IM DOING MY JOB!!!" "IC RULES BLAH BLAH BLAH" "COME TALK TO MY SUPER!!!" watever lady go yourself.....the one bit of power she has and she abuses it by us decent students

like uncle ben said "With great power comes great responsibility"....anyways, i just thought everyone should know where our university fees are being pumped.......

Heres how to fix that. Tell her "NO" and don't flinch, and then get back to work. Let her scream her fucken nut off all she likes, even let her call the police, theres nothing she can "DO" about it.

Stop being a wooss and say "NO". Remember not to flinch and then ignore her completely.

Some dickhead at the pools tried this with me last week.. ranted and screamed and I told him "NO" and he screamed to me to "GET OUT OR I'LL CALL THE COPS" so I shrugged and told him to go do that, and I ran back up the hydroslide steps. Five minutes later I had the pool manager apologising to me profusely. Hrm she was pretty too..

Stand up to people. Tell them "NO". There isn't a fucking thing they can do about it.

BTW, make sure you are right though.

wait wait wait, you managed to find a spare computer in info commons?

Also, this gives me an idea of complaining for those people who are using facebook/whatever when you need a PC to do some actual work

unfortunately for us, students arent seen as paying customers so we get fucked over and over....i was scared she'd sit on me so in fear for my life i left and plus i ACTUALLY didnt want to make noise and disturb the others as i know how important it is to have silence when trying to study!!! me and my mate ended going down to level 2 and discussing the material anyway so i didnt care too much about losing the compy on level 3....but the principle stays and we got fucked!!!

LOL you are not paying attention!

Learn to say "NO". Try it, it works and its fun too. Don't flinch. Don't discuss. First person who talks after the "NO" will lose. Simply turn back to what you were doing and let her rant to herself. Really. When she screams threats, tell her to "go for it" LMAO. TRY not to break out laughing at her please, coz she might knife you or something, hahahaha.

Hee hee, try it - NO.

Seriously though, "NO" is a great life skill. One day you WILL have to say it - might as well be earlier than later.

Good grief, students actually wanting to work and study? Dang, things have changed since I was last there ... anything more than a C- meant you were working to hard!

I remember whole weeks when I missed out on lectures and tutorials ... and many a great hour spent passing playing cards or boardgames or RPGs in the commons.

The last incident I could remember involving servers was when a group of us were playing a LAN game and a huffy stuffed shirt comes in and begins to check all the computer screens (we had all gone to legitimate work by the time he got around to us ) ... nothing he could do, as soon as he turned around we were all back at it again

Not as if we were doing anything wrong, nobody waiting to use computers ...

But yep, when you know your right, your right ... stand your ground and just go ahead and do what you wanted to do.

This is KEY - you can often bluff your way through it but being right makes it much better.
