Large heads and different standards

Back in UK for visit - trying to find new helmet to fit and bring home. Only found XXL XR-1000 Shoei and the Schuberth S1 Pro XXL (though later not quite right shape on my wonky forehead - would need a scalpel)

I am sure I remember trying on same size XR-1000 in Chch and could not even get it on???? I have seen some posts about helmets being different in different regions due to different standards.... what's the deal with UK vs NZ, anyone had similar experience, are they smaller in NZ?

I have been told by two dealers now that if I fit the Shoei XR-1000 XXL there is not another helmet on the market I will get into. (I had a KBC TK-9 62-63 last time)

What are folks back home wearing for these size heads and have you gotten your helmet in NZ?

(edit - btw there is an XXXL for the XR-1000 - it's loose on me!)

Any XXL Arai should fit you with that head size and you sort of have a choice of profile. They make a XXXL 65cm-66cm in certain models.

I haven't ever been able to get my head inside any Arai :-(
