    What model HJC helmet?

damn I knew somone would ask that question......Ummmmmm I dunno...

I'll go get it.......on the back it has two stickers, top one says: CL-14 bottom says: ECE R 22-05, L60 1550 g.....

After having a totu with it I did manage to break a tiny part (with bugger all effort I might add) which seems to play a pivotal role in keeping the visor on when open.....so now I have a visor that comes off one side easily when opened....

should be two we clip's on each side of the helmet with arrow's saying open on them. pull the we clip as far foward as it will go, then just pull the visor out from beside the clip. they do feel like they would break but it won't

Tried that, dosn't seem to work, even had a mate come and have a go no luck for him either. He used to have the same helmet and thought it was very difficult to open, so i might take it back to the shop and have em take a look...thanks for the advice though.

Visor fully open, one grey lever on each side that has an arrow and open on it. pull levers to open position with index fingers and pop visor off with thumbs.

Same problem with my HJC helmet. I can see the arrows and tried again and again but it will not come off and I don't want to break it. Anyhow, I found another way to apply 'sunstrike tape' so did not need to remove the visor.

Taking it back to the shop is the best idea although in my case I bought the helmet in another city and have not been back there.

There are those weird black leg thingies, pull them, then you'll hear a click. Then just pull the visor ends away from the helmet. Well, my helmet's like that anyway.

I had a cl-14, good helmets, but sometimes needed some 'encouragement' to get the visor off...

I had the same problem. I've got a FG-14, which uses the same visor as yours. Make absolutely sure that the visor is fully open. Have a look through the sheild to see that it's all the way at the top. I tried for the life of me to get it to come off but worked out it want happen unless it's FULLY open.

Then, working on one side at a time, you just slide the grey tabs that say "open" towards the front of the helmet and pull the side off.

The visor has little tabs that go into slots, so it needs to be in the right position for them to come out.

Now getting one on is another matter especially if you're throwing on a tinted one. The clear ones are a piece of cake. My blue one is an asshole!

I should make a video LOL It would have made things a hell of a lot easier for me the first time.

The visor slides forward not outwards from the side. Same when re fitting. Slides back into the recess it come out of. Bugger of thngs to get out. Also there is a small lug on the visor that needs to fit under ledge otherwise visor sits out from bottom edge of the helmet letting the wind in. It is sort of a channel arrangment.

Thanks everyone for you input, I have managed to get the visor off and give a good clean. The broken side pops out now every time I open it fully!

Now, the part that broke was the little lug that lets the visor out (in the link from Crynsie it what the arrow is pointing at in pic three), can I replace that little bit or is it the whole side plate that I need to replace??

Thanks for the link Crynsie, thats perfect actually, I like the part where it says PRY it open, like it should be that hard...

Hi Radar, what's this sunstrike tape, well I can guess what it is but is it any good? Got myself a tinted visor, heaps better but when the sun's low i still look like a hunchback trying to keep the sun out of my eye's.
