That pisses me off, aswell as the reserved seats for maoris, whether there is any who want to do the course or not anyway. Entrance requirements are lower from what I remember too. Basically means they don't need to be as qualified to get paid for the same job.. much like female cops, I have no problem with women being cops, but they should have to meet the same physical requirements as men if they are supposed to be doing the same job. (I'm sure there will be a few unhappy responses to that.. but it's true)

Yes, sadly some of the biggest scum in this country is Maori/polynesian....
And yes they are over represented in criminal statistics.

However if I look back at the most unselfish and generous workmates, neighbours and friends I have had (and still have).....Maoris are also heavily over-represented.....

I fully object to being refered to as a PAKEHA. My understanding is the word means "white pig" If they (maori's) can refer to me as a white pig in their language then I reserve the right to refer to them as BLACK PIGS in my language and if they find it offensive well TOUGH SHIT.
Two guesses which of us would be called racist.
Another thing that fucks me off is government generated forms of all kinds that have PAKEHA as a ethnicity choice on them. I always cross it out and put WHITE NEW ZEALANDER.

Devil there's no way you can use a generalist term and refer to a specific incident.

"Fucking darkies" means all dark skinned people are bad in some way.

Never been directly the target of racism, but see it everywhere a bit too often.

Prisons aside... Looking at the real world - I work in recruitment and deal with people "selecting" people all day.

In NZ and Australia you guys will be suprised at the amount of racism - candidates rejected purely based on thier name, even if they have great local experience. The lack of promotions, purposely stifling peoples careers...It works both ways guys. Blacks, White, Coloureds, Browns, Yellows.....There is racism everywhere and it sucks.

It starts with simple crap like sportsbike riders vs cruisers (discrimination/us vs them) and extends to much more serious issues in every aspect of life. Even north India vs south India....... there are no innocent parties.... India vs Kashmir, Palenstine vs Israel, Russia vs Chechnia (spelling), America vs flavour of the month....
